Sometimes people ask us to talk about our work with children living in poverty here. A key thing we'll mention is our Early Year Grants' programme. Through it we help hundreds of families buy the basic essentials. Here's the story of our grants since the start of this year...
We’re sharing our ‘Connecting through Song’ research at the Public Health Agency’s mental health conference. The initiative helps families better engage with their babies, using music & song as a connector, a tool to help speech & a boost to early development. 🧠 🎶💫
⚠️Its a criminal offence to abandon an animal without ensuring its welfare is looked after. The penalty for abandonment can be up to 6 months in jail &/or a fine of up to £5,000.

We are delighted that the Welfare Supplementary Payments Bill was passed last night! This Bill, along with the recently passed regulations, mean that all of the existing welfare mitigations have been extended and the loopholes closed. Here's what a few of our members had to say:
It's great to see people's solidarity. Please provide cash rather than goods when possible, directly or via trusted charities including @savechildrenuk BBC News - Ukraine help: What can people in the UK do?

Investing in qualified, well trained and well-resourced teachers is one of the greatest investments we can make in children’s futures. Great to see this highlighted in the new @sendmyfriend report, out today! https://t.co/ykBrLRsnQP
Our analysis shows the value of families’ universal credit will fall by £570 a year, on average. Unless benefits are increased by 7% in April to match inflation, this will be the second income cut for struggling families in six-months. https://t.co/MQoyoxzfsa
Next week Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will decide whether they support bringing an end to the mindless cruelty of hunting with dogs . People of Northern Ireland , you can make your voice heard by mailing your MLAs . Please use this link : https://t.co/MjwAH6vF4v
Happy #WorldChildrensDay!❤️
We stand for children everywhere - whoever they are, wherever they live and whatever they’ve been through.
Children shouldn’t be defined by their situation, but by who they are and what they can be.
