Just a quick update, bc I had a few people asking, but no: the clip channel isn't dead.

I had to take a break from it last month to focus more on my IRL job & other opportunities that have occurred since then.

Discord is about to put your public messages on Google

Discord will start making messages from Discoverable public servers searchable on Google and other search engines from mid-December.

The feature is ON by default in most regions, but you can opt out:

User Settings → Data & Privacy → turn off “Show my message content from Discoverable channels on web pages.”

In the EU, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea, it will be OFF by default.

Private servers, DMs and group DMs are not included. Usernames and avatars won’t appear alongside indexed messages.

In times when numbers aren’t as good, it’s hard not to feel like I “fell off” and get discouraged from continuing to stream cool things/ make cool stuff because I start dooming!

But I remind myself of my community and that the only true way I’ll “fall off” is if I give up! 🦾🧠

Because at the end of the day, clippers are also people with their own lives to live & there's never a guarantee they'll be around long-term.

If you're a VTuber, still post your content if you can, and if you're fortunate enough to have people clipping you, even better.

[Shinsta312 @shinsta312]

Some of the most prominent clipping channels started because they were a fan first & foremost, growing alongside the vtubers that they've clipped.

Having dedicated clippers on YouTube is an invaluable asset to have. With that said, it's still important to post your own content.

[cypurr 🛜🪽 @cypurrpunk]

THIS. are you broke and can’t support your favorite streamer???

CLIP THEM. you don’t even have to edit or post that shit. JUST CLIP THEM WHEN YOU WATCH SOMETHING FUNNY. CLIPPPPPP.

ADHD + Vtubing is like a superpower but also the worst thing ever
One second the only thing you can think about is Vtubing
Your messaging people back, streaming on a good schedule, editing, uploading a whole lot of content
Then the next second you are so overwhelmed by how much work this can be so you only do the bare minimum (if that) until you can fixate again
sometimes I go months without doing work I need to do because I get so overwhelmed...
It really does help when streaming tho lol
Infinite things to talk about hehe~
