From 2013 to 2022, the Victorian Labor government was forced to self-fund its major infrastructure projects after receiving a disproportionately low share of federal grants from the Liberal-National Coalition government.
Jacinta Allan possesses the most relentless drive and work ethic of any state leader I’ve ever seen. Here are some highlights of what Jacinta has achieved in just three years.
Jacinta Allan Premier of Victoria - 2023 to Present
Jacinta Allan assumed office unopposed after Daniel Andrews resigned.
Throughout the Liberal-National Coalition's federal term (spanning the Abbott, Turnbull, and Morrison governments), Victoria consistently argued it was starved of its "fair share" of infrastructure capital based on population.
Victoria was home to roughly 25% to 26% of Australia's population but frequently received significantly less in return.
In the 2019 Morrison government Federal Budget, Victoria was allocated only 17.7% of national infrastructure spending over the forward estimates.
In the Morrison government Federal Budget in April 2022, Victoria received just 5.9% ($208 million) out of $3.56 billion in new national infrastructure funding.
Furthermore, Victoria was entirely excluded ($0) from the Morrison government $7.1 billion regional investment fund.
In the fifth round of the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF), Liberal-National Coalition-held and marginal federal seats received nearly 90% of the $300 million funding pool.
Labor-held regional areas in Victoria and other states—despite accounting for 34% of eligible seats—received just 16% of total grant values.
In the 2022-23 Morrison Federal Budget, the Liberal-National Coalition government confirmed it would terminate all emergency COVID-19 hospital funding by September 2022.
This move stripped away an estimated $1.5 billion in health funding from Victoria alone, despite ongoing pandemic pressures on the state's hospital systems.
The stupid are using government debt in Victoria as a weapon against it, we're in debt, SO FUCKING WHAT, jobs hospitals roads railway infrastructure, renewable cheaper energy, etc, they cost money, they don't happen without it.
#VicLibTrashLeader Jess Wilson only talks of cuts 😡
@FinancialReview Momentum is building, & the squeeze on Albo is only getting tighter. Time to deliver on the promises: a real NACC with teeth, accountability for Robodebt, & a voice for those harmed by the Brereton-era ADF protection racket. Australians deserve answers, not more silence
As Australia are playing in their first game of the #FifaWorldCup, we want to thank Socceroo footballer Jackson Irvine for speaking out for human rights.
It’s a powerful message to all footballers and pundits that they can use their platform at the World Cup to speak out against injustice. #HumanityMustWin

Channel 7 just announced the investors are deserting the rental market in Melbourne.
Their point is that there are now fewer rentals available.
THE PROPERTIES HAVE NOT DISAPPEARED!
This means more people have bought as owner occupiers, taking people out of the rental market
THIS IS PRECISELY WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!
@ShaunLeaneMP Victoria’s infrastructure is brilliant and will be appreciated for decades. Add in the beautiful Arts precinct and Sports Complex as well.
I was in the CBD thru the week and it was busy, the theatres were sold out for matinees etc.

Hey?
I'm sticking with the party of medicare and good international relationships, lower taxes and fairness for workers. Not perfect but closest to the things I care about in our country.
LNP: chaotic
ON: no depth, no solutions.

@Robhaspatience Everyone was left behind, apart from the wealthy,
when Morrison and the LNP were in government.
Labor are doing a great job caring for all Australians.
We live in a very lucky country.
@eatatjoe2 Don't allow the bully Pauline Hanson in Victoria
Victoria is better than Pauline Hanson fake lies she is for the people Pauline will destroy all the good things in this country with her hate
Vote Jacinta Allen 👍👍👍
C’mon Victoria. Do not let crazies like Monica Smith, Avi Yemeni push your vote towards One Nation: the Rinehart Party. You may dislike Labor, but do not fall into the trap of thinking that Gina Rinehart running the country would be a good thing.
