Omer Shem Tov, who spent 505 days in Hamas captivity in Gaza, recently appeared on an Israeli late night talk show and shared that, while a hostage, he committed to keeping Shabbat. "What does that even mean?" quipped one of the show's co-hosts. "I mean, what could you have done in captivity? Go on a fun jeep tour of Gaza?" Shem Tov didn't lose a beat. Held underground, he explained, he was given a small flashlight, the only source of illumination at his disposal. And on Shabbat, he didn't turn it on, sitting in total darkness but knowing that he was lit up from the inside by a much greater, and more eternal, force.
The IDF is why there will never be a second Holocaust.
Today we remember the 6 million murdered when Jews had no state, no army, and no one willing to save them.
Asked to clarify if he thinks Trump is a fascist, before Mamdani can answer, Trump intervenes and laughs it off, saying, “That’s ok. You can just say yes. That’s easier. It’s easier than explaining.”
We have to have the difficult conversation with friends saying they'll rank Mamdani on their list. We can engage by asking questions, and by being open about our concerns and just how profound they are. And we have to encourage those already convinced he shouldn't be our mayor -- to get to the polls and cast their vote. I hope this video helps. #DontRankMamdani
My father and Zohran's father, on the record. Vote! Your choice in this election matters, so don't throw it away with a protest vote. Early voting now open.
Naftali Bennet, former prime minister, hoping to be PM again, lists his government’s priorities if he’s elected:
1. State Commission into Oct 7 failure
2. Limiting prime minister to 8 years.
3. Enacting a Constitution
4. Getting Haredim into army, work, education.
As we hold our breath awaiting the hostages’ return, the facts of the past two years are clear to any decent person, and this is what history will remember:
1. On October 7th, 2023 thousands of Hamas terrorists attacked peaceful Israeli communities and burned, raped and murdered 1,200 Israelis, kidnapping another 250.
This included elderly Holocaust survivors, and months old babies.
2. As a result Israel waged a war with two goals: to remove the Hamas threat and to bring home the hostages.
3. Hamas had previously turned most of Gaza into a massive terror complex, with tunnels, rocket launchers and ammunition in tens of thousands of homes, schools and hospitals.
4. Israel faced this unprecedented challenge by massively evacuating civilians, sending millions of text messages before attacks and essentially bent over backwards to minimize civilian casualties.
5. Given Hamas’ methods, tens of thousands of Gazans died.
Many were Hamas fighters and many, unfortunately, were civilians.
Civilians dying is an inevitable and horrible part of urban warfare.
6. At no point was there a policy of starvation.
There was food insecurity because that’s what happens in wars.
The pictures of supposed starving children, we now know, were of kids with unrelated pre-existing conditions.
7. There was no genocide, nor was there anything remotely close to that.
This is one of the most successful BIG LIES in modern history.
8. The overwhelming majority of Israelis want to raise families and build a good future for our children.
We hate war.
For us it’s personal because we’re a citizen army.
I had to fight wars. I lost close friends.
My son serves in the same commando unit as I did.
We have skin in the game, so nobody in Israel wants to kill or be killed.
But we know that if for one moment we’ll lay down our arms, we’ll be massacred as on Oct 7th, and that’s not something we’re planning.
9. Israel had the deepest gratitude towards @realDonaldTrump and his team.
You saw this in Tel Aviv last night.
Israel also has considerable domestic debates. That’s part of the beauty here, though I’d happily have a bit less of that beauty.
10. We now need to turn a page, and open a new, beautiful chapter for Israel and for the region.
Change is coming soon.
Am Yisrael Chai🇮🇱
Fun with numbers: There are about 4.7 million registered voters in New York City. Mamdani got 432,305 votes. That’s 9.1 percent. That the organized Jewish community was stupid and useless up until now is one thing. But a Mamdani victory in Nov. is far from a foregone conclusion.
Fellow NYC Jews: stop blackpilling right the bleep now. The sky isn’t falling. Some canny Jew hater just managed to unite his smallish sliver of the electorate, aided by truly terrible candidates and the rotting Democrat Party. Now we do what Jews always do: not run away but fight like hell. Organize. Find a better candidate. Get out the vote come November. And most importantly resolve to do one more Jewish thing today than you did yesterday. This is how we win, always.
Democrats wishing to lose the ‘26 midterms should promote a 33 year-old socialist devoid of executive experience for mayor of America’s largest city and impeach a president who ended a tyrannical regime’s nuclear threat while achieving a cease fire days later.
Opinion: Israel's strikes against Iran are not simply a matter of regional security. It's the central front in a global clash between tyranny and freedom, Mathias Döpfner writes.

Tel Aviv is under missile attack by genocidal madmen (who are not long for this world) but we all knew this day would come and spirits are high: Secular and religious Israelis, young and old, sing together, "Things will get better and better..."
What a peculiar country, Israel.
While Iranian missiles rain down on us, 200,000 Israelis abroad are scrambling to come home.
Not away from danger, but toward it.
I love my Nation of Lions🇮🇱
‼️‼️ 20 percent of NYC jews are voting for Mamdani who is pro Palestine. Among the members of this temple are Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers, Congressman Jerry Nadler and many ADL leaders.
Author Norman Podhoretz wrote in Why Are Jews Liberal that “To most American Jews, then, liberalism is not, as has often been said, merely a necessary component of Jewishness: it is the very essence of being a Jew. Nor is it a ‘substitute for religion’: it is a religion in its own right, complete with its own catechism and its own dogmas and, Tertullian-like, obdurately resistant to facts that undermine its claims and promises.” He adds “where the Torah of contemporary liberalism conflicts with the Torah of Judaism, it is the Torah of liberalism that prevails and the Torah of Judaism that must give way.”
Rabbi Avi Weiss—the foremost Jewish activist of this generation—has noted, “It is easy to love everyone; it is far more difficult to love someone. The test of how one loves all people is the way one loves one’s own people.”
The Bolshevik revolutionary Rosa Luxemburg, herself a Jew, once said, “I have no room in my heart for Jewish suffering – Why do you pester me with Jewish troubles?”
This Temple has people who are so outspoken on every issue—except Jewish ones. Mamdani being welcomed into a Jewish temple is part of the problem. Jews too are to blame for where we are.
Here’s the PROOF:
This is the SPECIFIC food distribution site, at the PRECISE time that Israeli tanks supposedly shot them.
Nothing. No shooting. Everything going well.
100% fake.
The headline is simply a LIE.
This is simply unbelievable.
When it’s about Israel, all slander works.
Without fail, all my former professors at @columbiajourn spent the last few months squawking about Trump's attempt to rid their campus of terrorist sympathizers. Not a single one stepped up to say that maybe we shouldn't be handing a Pulitzer to an Oct. 7 denier.
