@NoblemanGesture These videos have seemed suspicious to me for a while.
I've suspected that they are either a controlled psy-op or some heretical sect that LARPs as Christians e.g. Unitarians.
@prgrssiveacct I particularly enjoy the accusation that these are people who 'don't normally care about football', after The Cohort insisted so vigorously that this would be the most important national cultural event in a lifetime.
It's a bit cliche to say now, but it genuinely feels like we've regressed to the era of blaming natural disasters on the prevalence of sin and vice.

Absolutely bonkers that, when you try to find out how 100 people can die from flooding in a modern, wealthy country, all you get from the BBC et al. is insane screeds about climate change. Not a single explanation for why flood defenses catastrophically failed.
I think our late-liberal order is more about stasis, than progress & change. Keeping everything always the same has been the order of the day for generations now: Borders, governments, economies, even the forward momentum of Progress itself: All set in amber.

The narrative-makers had already decided, the moment we lost, that the footballers would be 'abused', no need for it to actually happen
@eugyppius1 For at least a year now I have frequently had dreams where I have gone into a shop and many people are not wearing masks, and I feel a sense of happiness that people have finally started defying the daft rules.
Then I wake up and it's back to 99% compliance everywhere. Sadness.
