Would you bet EVERYTHING on one idea?
Michael Saylor did.
Michael is a technology entrepreneur and the founder of the company now called Strategy. Long before Bitcoin, he built businesses in business intelligence, speech recognition and smart-home technology. Today, he is probably best known for turning his company into the world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin.
In 2020, his company was worth around $600 million when he made what I described to him as an “early, very contrarian bet on Bitcoin”. At its peak, the company reached roughly $125 billion.
I wanted to understand what Michael saw that almost everyone else didn’t, where that level of conviction comes from, and why his thinking goes far beyond Bitcoin.
We discussed things like:
- How he says AI helped him create $15 billion last year.
- Why he believes buying a house might not be the best way to build wealth.
- What he would study if he was 18 today.
- Which careers AI could completely transform.
- What is happening to the value of the money sitting in your bank.
- Why he still has such enormous conviction in Bitcoin.
Michael’s whole point is that technology, money and careers are not separate conversations.
He sees them as connected parts of where the world is heading, and believes the decisions we make now could matter far more than most people realise.
Even if you see the world differently to Michael, there is a lot to take from the way he thinks. His experience building technology companies, making enormous financial bets and thinking deeply about AI gives him a perspective on money, work and the future that is worth listening to.
Out now on all platforms. Let me know what you think of this one in the comments ❤️👊🏾
“This is a nuclear bomb in politics.”
Instead of engaging in honest criticism of Donald Trump, Democrats chose to collude with Jeffrey Epstein and spread lies about him.
BREAKING: The S&P 500 has now erased -$1.5 trillion in market cap between 10:40 AM ET and 12:20 PM ET.
That's -$15 billion PER MINUTE for 100 minutes straight.
The craziest part?
There hasn't been a single material headline yet.
New essay up at @reason about how stablecoins have evolved from obscure tool to key pillar of US economic power
Bitcoin separates money from state, but stablecoins do the opposite, expanding the fiat system

If you wonder how the EU could agree to such a humiliating deal:
It’s because the EU has no political leverage.
It has outsourced its energy needs, neglected its defense, sabotaged its industry, regulated away any innovation, and generally failed to become an indispensable geopolitical player.
In short, the EU needs the U.S. more than vice versa.
Unfortunately, being the world champion in moralizing doesn’t buy you a seat at the table, and so the EU has become, for all intents and purposes, politically irrelevant.
If an asset has gone up 10,000x and "only" has 100x to go, you have not "missed out" because the asset has only captured 1% of its total addressable market.
The real growth for Bitcoin is still ahead.
Bitcoin in the S&P 500:
Block - 8,584 BTC
Coinbase - 9,267 BTC
Tesla - 11, 509 BTC
Dollar value of their combined BTC: ~$3.48 billion
Bitcoin's share of the entire wealth in the S&P: $3.48b / $53.59T = .00649%.
Strategy's inclusion would bring the Bitcoin share of S&P wealth to $75.4b.
$75.4b / $53.8T ≈ .14% of S&P 500's market cap in Bitcoin.
You're early.
Took a bit of effort but Bitle v.01 is operational; Bitle is a self powered, standalone ESP32-based mesh relay node for @jack's bitchat, a decentralized messaging protocol; it can operate indefinitely on solar, or ~25-50 days on the battery; the case is weatherproof and meant to be installed in adverse conditions. It should extend the range of bluetooth outdoors anywhere from 300-500ft.
Bitle implements the bitchat binary protocol over Bluetooth LE, establishing GATT server connections with bitchat devices and acts as an intermediate node to extend the mesh network range. Bitle handles noise protocol handshakes for secure communication, processes encrypted user messages, and forwards them through the mesh network.
It's designed as a professional mesh relay that enhances bitchat's decentralized architecture by providing additional routing nodes without requiring user interaction or appearing as a peer in the messaging interface.
I envisioned its utility as a ground node for remote areas, like hiking trails, camping grounds etc (hence the name Bitle - "Biddle" or "beetle") where signal may be weak and communication critical. Most importantly, although signal/wifi may be abundant, bitchat isn't really about being a failsafe to online comms - it's about choosing to communicate without centralized infrastructure; peer to peer - a device like Bitle seems instrumental to this. It should be possible to make a grid of these quite cheaply and establish an ambient mesh network that anyone can communicate through while being offline. The bulk of the size of the device is in the battery/solar/case/power board - it would be significantly smaller if it was built into a lightbulb or any plug-in device.
🫡 Thank you President Trump, you will go down in history as the first Bitcoin and Crypto world leader. It’s been an honor to be a (tiny) part of it.
Promises Made, Promises Kept.
