Do you not understand how this works in Orthodoxy? The Greek Patriarch is no concern of mine because there are procedural and hierarchical structures in place to deal with heresy. Furthermore I’m a layman and obedient and trusting of the hierarchy above me. Keyword you used is alleged. If he’s to error and commit heresy the governing bodies will deal with it accordingly. You’re only proving our point more by showing the elasticity and impenetrableness of the decentralized system the Orthodox Church has.

Vatican II is the doctrine SSPX rejected and excommunicated for, there is no path further for them under the Pope without accepting and submitting to Vatican II being a salvation binding council along with its documents.

They can either submit to something they don’t believe, become Protestant, or reexamine Papal supremacy from the Orthodox perspective.

The Orthodox Patriarchs don’t fracture anything, their decentralized architecture builds a more robust and impenetrable body of the Church. If one Jurisdiction was to be excommunicated, the laity don’t have to make any doctrinal or dogmatic concessions to rejoin at a different jurisdiction like SSPX do with Vatican II.
