Out of the 142,369 Hindu
111,890 Hindu boys belonged to "Non-Brahmin castes" , denoting their dominance in the indigenous vernacular education. Not just Shudras but Dalits were studying in these schools too!

Who destroyed Nalanda University?

It was definitely NOT "Brahminists" (Hindus)

Tibetan Buddhist sources clearly say it was Muslim invader Bakhtiyar Khalji who destroyed Nalanda. Not only Nalanda, the chronicles describe that he also destroyed Vikramshila, Odantapuri & Bodh Gaya.

This is based on the EYEWITNESS accounts of destruction of these universities which was documented in Tibetan chronicles in 1255 CE. The testimony was given by the Buddhist abbot of Nalanda & Vikramshila university himself after he went to Tibet. His name was Kaśmīra Pandita Śakya-Sri Bhadra who is known to the Tibetans as Kache Panchen (Mahapandita of Kashmir). Despite his efforts, Nalanda and Vikramashila were razed to the ground and the entire Sangha community of Odantapuri was mercilessly slaughtered. Fearing for their teacher’s life, his students escorted Shakyashri Bhadra out of the area in a daring escape.

The Tibetan records also indicate that when Khalji tried to attack Tibet through Assam, he was defeated by the Assamese army, & the TIbetans took away Bakhtiyar's head & skin to be displayed at one of their monasteries.
