I was totally shocked to see my friend @RaviGup04957337 in the Netflix documentary of @HansMokeNiemann. He had no idea about it when I broke the news. It's not every day you get lucky to be part of a Netflix documentary. I just couldn't contain my happiness when I saw this. 😍
Yesterday, I had the honor of delivering this eulogy at Daniel’s funeral. With the family’s permission, I’m sharing it here so that those who couldn’t attend can read and remember him.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all members of the chess community who came together to honor Daniel’s life. Your presence and support meant so much to his family, friends, and all of us who loved him.
There is much more I’d like to say about Danya and the impact he had on all of us, which I plan to share in a later tribute.
Danya was a Chess Life magazine columnist from 2014 through 2020, writing a monthly column on endgames.
Now, all of his columns can be downloaded as one .pdf file here (no US Chess membership required):

The Naroditsky family shares the sad news of Daniel’s unexpected passing. Daniel was a talented chess player, educator, and beloved member of the chess community. We ask for privacy as the family grieves.
I just came back on Twitter to say a final goodbye to my favourite chess commentator. I'm in utter shock. I still wish this weren't true. Completely heartbroken and shattered. You will be forever missed by the chess world, Daniel. 💔

@1onlinefriend@eternalhopeoaks@boldmovebydan Gormally was talking about what worked for him when he was a kid. We don't even know what else he was doing simultaneously—training with other talented kids, tournaments, coaching, etc. So, not sure how much was the computer program responsible for breaking the plateau.
@boldmovebydan Me & my friends. Mostly just playing a lot of blitz & doing tactics and some analysis. I'm sure you will be 100-150 points higher than your current online blitz if you make some changes. I have to check your games to know what exactly isn't working for you.
@natesolon@thestrongchess@eternalhopeoaks@boldmovebydan@gmmds I don't mind losing against a strong player at all. But, even when I'm playing online against a GM in blitz, I've slight hope that I can trick them in time pressure. It has occasionally worked. I don't know what I can do against an engine. It's just hopeless and very boring.
@boldmovebydan I'm also playing probably at a 100 points lower level than my true strength but I'm not working on my game so I'm not surprised. Also, losing tons of winning games in time pressure as that's a chronic issue with me. Won the last three games just by managing my time better.
@boldmovebydan I am not saying you will gain 400-500 points this way. But, at least you will start playing at your true strength and gain 100-150 points with some effort once the moves start coming more intuitively to you.
