“On the Path Towards Rebuidling Sikkim : Indian Army Sappers and Border Roads Launch Bridge accross the Teesta”

As part of continued efforts to rebuild & reconnect affected areas in North #Sikkim, Army Engineers of #TrishaktiCorps along with BRO and civil administration commenced construction of two bridges at Mangan to open up alternate route Mangan-Sanklang-Chungthang. Working on a war footing, the troops completed construction of the first bridge of 150 feet length on 22 Oct. 

The second bridge is likely to be completed by 27th Oct. This will enable vehicle move between Mangan and Chungthang, thus restoring connectivity upto Lachung valley that was cut off since 4 Oct.

The exceptional skill, unparalleled resolve, dedication to the task & unwavering commitment displayed by the troops has restored hope in the hearts of the affected communities that normalcy will be restored soon.

Troops of #TrishaktiCorps along with Rural Development Authority & locals constructed a Foot Suspension Bridge of 300 ft length adjacent to Mangan - Sanklang Bailey bridge . An aerial cable 320 ft in length has also been prepared over Teesta River. These have enabled evacuation of tourists and locals from North #Sikkim & ferrying of relief materials.

#IndianArmy is conducting a unique Women Military Officers Course for #ASEAN countries, imparting collaborative training under the UN framework at the Centre for United Nations Peacekeeping, #CUNPK New Delhi. This unique initiative symbolises the commitment of #IndianArmy towards enduring #Peacekeeping while ensuring gender equality & aligns with India's commitment to the #ASEAN countries.

The participants were also exposed to Made In India vehicles and equipment under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Initiative, tailor made for and being used in United Nations Missions across the world.
