Government celebrated BSNL made profits this quarter after a long gap of 17 years. BJP IT wing boasted about this repeatedly. Skeptics like me were wondering how this is possible. Now @Saiarav has unraveled this:
The BSNL financials are out and as expected, it's a freaking joke.
- Employee expense is down by 350 crores q/q but that is entirely because employee expense has been capitalised!!
- Depreciation and amortization, which is a non-cash expense, is down by ~₹800cr q/q because there is a big reversal of amortization of previous Qs (difficult to read the text, it's blurred)
Take a look at the BSNL Q3 quarterly document. The audit report and notes are so blurred one can barely read a single word. Dunno if it's deliberate because this quarter has major accounting adjustments which they don't want us to know.
This is a company where more than ₹1L crore of taxpayer money has been ploughed in over the last few years. And this is how the company under @JM_Scindia reports it's financial performance to the public.
There is also ₹400 cr of excess "other income" vs Q2 due to reversal of provisions and profit on asset sales.
So basically, operational performance - operational revenues and cash operational costs - is pretty much the same as Q2 when they reported loss before taxes of ₹1500 cr.
India is a "let's see" economy.
(1) Let's build a big statute and see, if it generates jobs
- It didn't.
(2) Let's increase LTCG on equities from 10% to 12.5% and see if it increases tax collections
- It didn't.
(3) Let's ban our 1000Rs note. And, see if it curbs black money
- It didn't.
Problem is when you run such experiments with a big economy, it can create far lasting affects.
Other economies have a plan, we have "let's see".
Atul Subhash was a top notch expert in the field of AI/ML
He was a techie & was also a volunteer & counselor to many male victims of #FalseCases filed by disgruntled wives.
He was not depressed by any measure.
He gave up since he lost hope on a system that gave 120 dates of hearing in 10 false cases in 2 years.
Judiciary failed him & his family.

The human mind is biased, and correcting these biases necessitates seeking and adhering to truth. This demands serious analysis and often assistance from others. Yet, determining whom to trust is complicated by our own biases.
RT if you want a law that if an elected representative ( MP/ MLA/Councillor) leaves a party and joins another one he has to resign first and re-election must happen on that seat
