This is unique to Hinduism.

Hinduism is rich in festivals that ritualise individual family relationship, not merely “family” generally, but husband–wife, brother–sister, and other specific bonds.

You have Karwa Chauth, Teej for Husband-wife, Raksha Bandhan for Brother & sister. Western morality which dictates much of Indian elite education, can’t seem to fathom such festivals, as it’s absent in Judeo-Christian religious traditions. So a happy consensual festival gets beaten by the baton of patriarchy. Brown sepoys actively take part.
