"Contrary to the rhetoric that learning loss is not being addressed, our educators are capable of, and have been, identifying learning gaps without subjecting students to the risks and stresses of administering high-stakes, end-of-year tests." https://t.co/fMm6XcTfce
Today, we celebrated World Read Aloud Day and Joy’s 1st grade class was delighted to hear a book read by one of my best friends Dr. Urania Davis! She’s an incredible woman and role model! Thank you!
It has not been easy, but educators, students, and parents rose to the challenges of 2020 with hard work, resilience, ingenuity, and compassion. #HappyNewYear, everyone. Here's to a brighter 2021.
I started a thread that was much too long a way to say simply this:
Would the Lord
-who has carried us through so much, who has brought us to the other side of circumstances we considered unsurvivable, who has redeemed situations we were sure were unredeemable-
drop us now?
I will miss my Glenwood babies today as we hold parent teacher conferences. I can’t wait to share how hard they have been working, how happy they are at school, and our plans for each of them to learn at high levels. I hope they get to play outside today and enjoy an extra recess!
@casas_jimmy On site. I have 3 brand new teachers. Primary grades. We are face-to-face instruction. I’m an AP, leading their induction program that is at our school. Typically have met once per month. Would like something fresh and relevant.
#ThoughtForTheDay One of the things that makes educators so special is that in many ways they are like second parents. They just don’t teach students lessons in reading, math, history, tech, languages, etc., but they teach kids & young men & women how to live! #LiveYourExcellence
