So much money is being spent on Americans not moving even an inch to the left. That's how it became the only rich country that doesn't have free healthcare, paid parental leave, free college education, monthly children stipends etc. It's mind boggling.
James talarico says he supports reparations for slavery:
"Restoration, repairing past harms is part of my faith tradition... We have to correct the injustices of our past... We are seeing the reverberations of slavery in modern day Texas, all over the place. And until we as a society are committed to righting those past wrongs, of restoring our black communities, we're never going to be able to get this country back on track." #TXsen
Reporter: "Are you serious about arresting Netanyahu?"
Mamdani: "100%. Yes."
Reporter: "Trump said he won’t."
Mamdani: "He has a warrant for war crimes. Trump may protect him. I won't."
Clara Mattei brilliantly debunks a century of capitalist propaganda by explaining how capitalism is unnatural, has existed for only 0.1% of human history, took control of the world through violence, and is maintained by coercion and the superficial facade of liberal democracy.
Nobody can afford food, gas, electricity, housing or health care - and the elites of both parties not only don't seem to care, they seem intent on live broadcasting their lavish parties with their sides' celebrities as the rest of the country starves.
This is "let them eat" cake - but blasted out 24-7 to millions of people's screens.
It's genuinely unprecedented in human history - and it's almost as if the ruling class is trying to shake the foundation of civilizational stability and create conditions for social chaos.
America needs to learn a similar lesson, that it can’t marginalize, incarcerate, propagandize & oppress its way out of every problem.
At some point, real remedies & policy solutions need to enter the discussion.
Ezra Klein is a serious threat to a world of true equality and justice because he is so effective at masking his service to the ruling class through (often faux) intellectual cooptation of progressive people who otherwise would support much more profound social change.
when we say “crime is a social construct”.
what we mean is that you, as an individual, can go to jaił for littering but a corporation can poıson the air, the soil, and the water of an entire town, and no one will go to jaił.
a reminder that America is devoted to making sure that the wages you earn doing actual work are taxed at a far higher rate than the passive income rich people make in their sleep doing literally nothing
For the first time since the U.S. government began collecting the data, young Black men are dying by suicide at a higher rate than young white men https://t.co/vkSPC7ERvz
For consistency, if you oppose Russia’s participation in international sports for breaking international law and committing war crimes, you should also be opposing the United States’ and Israel’s participation in international sports.
🤫 As I told you in “Rise of Legacy @HuffPost” over a decade ago.
“The new era that has arrived brings us back to a time where what you will become is based not on how much Chase will loan you without collateral, but rather what your grandfather left for you so many years ago. This reality makes our personal family history more important than ever.” https://t.co/L3nkZl9cmn
In the UK, the wealth of the 200 richest families grew from 6% to 20% of GDP from 1994 to 2025.
In the US, the wealth of the 400 richest households grew from 2% to 20% of GDP from 1982 to 2025.
The surge in wealth concentration is a real threat to democracy.
"Tucker Carlson, on all these issues, just shows you how completely shackled to the corporate oligarchy donor world the Democratic Party is." - @yashalevine
"[Democrats] spent all this time after the election being like 'Democrats need to do whatever it takes to win. If that means throwing trans folks under the bus, it means throwing immigrants under the bus, whatever! All that matters is winning.' Climate too...But the entire purpose of this infrastructure is pushing Dems to not do the most clearly politically beneficial thing that they could do right now, which is to come out strongly against this tech -- against the data centers." - @AaronRegunberg

It’s really something how billionaires have rigged the rules to let them vacuum up all of society’s wealth & then fund think tanks and buy media properties that blame poverty and homelessness and despair on literally everything other than billionaires vacuuming up all the wealth
