The anecdotes emerging about the Kasba Law College rapist, his street name being “Mango”, of forcing students to buy Tshirts from him, selling seats, abusing guards and professors, of publicly beating students and recording their humiliation as he shouts “I am pofessional criminal”, the impunity from consequence a concomitant to his being a student leader of TMC and of being on first-name terms with TMC heavyweights, are symptomatic of a larger malaise in the body politic of Bengal.

With no growth except in population, Bengal has turned in on itself like a twisted tree, cannibalizing itself. With no means of productive business, the only way of making money is to feed of its citizens: which is why TMC sells educational seats, and extorts its own voters.

And like cells being eaten by cancer, the people watch the invading tendrils attach to its walls, as the paid jesters of the ruling dispensation dance to hoary “Say no to BJP” and “they are coming for your fish” as means of distracting the ones being consumed.

This is not to say that the Bengal BJP is a solution, they are the ones who could not even meet the exacting standards of corruption of the TMC, having been rejected by them as their leaders work to be just nuisance enough so that the mother party absorbs them back. Nor is the CPM who created this culture in the first place.

The ones responsible for their fate are Bengalis themselves: as they vote based on hand outs, which party will give them the bigger part of their own flesh. Worse are the ones of privilege, the bhodrolok, the buddhijibi, the ones who go to RG Kar protest and shout “Kashmir maange azaadi” because they are afraid of raising slogans against the government, whose masticated cud they feed off. Bengal may be a fascist state but it’s one of universal complicity.

Mango, or Monojit Mishra, is merely a bottom feeding worm of the carcass of a once great culture, now gangrenous and putrid, a symptom and not the cause.

Attoghati or suicidal Bengalis Nirad Chaudhuri had once said. No it’s worse.

They are eating themselves in ravenous gulps.

US Deep State Promotes Muhammad Yunus as the ‘Sultan of the Bengal Caliphate’

It is widely known who supports Wikipedia – a platform often criticized for its bias and its role as one of many instruments of the US Deep State. Now, this same platform is openly promoting Muhammad Yunus as the ‘Sultan of the Bengal Caliphate’.

A visit to Yunus's Wikipedia page will leave many stunned. The page refers to him as “The Honorable Muhammad Yunus” and bizarrely lists him as the “5th Chief Advisor of Bangladesh”. This is factually incorrect. Since 1991, Bangladesh has had only three Election-Time Caretaker Governments, each led by a Chief Advisor. In 2007, the so-called "interim government" was led by a Chief Executive – not a Chief Advisor. Thus, the information presented by Wikipedia is not only misleading but blatantly false.

Moreover, the use of the title “The Honorable” in Yunus’s Wikipedia page raises serious questions. I have examined Wikipedia profiles of several global leaders, including Donald Trump, Narendra Modi, and even Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. None of them are addressed with such honorifics. So, how and from where did Muhammad Yunus acquire this special designation? It seems that Wikipedia has granted Yunus a level of reverence typically reserved for heads of state – and even they are rarely described this way on the platform. This appears to be an intentional move to elevate Yunus's status, possibly aligning with his aspiration to emerge as the so-called ‘Sultan of the Bengal Caliphate’ by undermining democratic institutions in Bangladesh.

Another interesting – and questionable – detail on Yunus’s Wikipedia page is the way his citizenships are listed. It reads:

British subject (1940–1947), Citizen of Pakistan (1947–1971), and Citizen of Bangladesh (since 1971).

While this may seem like a historical account, the emphasis on his prior Pakistani citizenship seems deliberate. Why is this highlighted so pointedly? Is there a specific reason Yunus prefers not to distance himself from his past as a Pakistani citizen? Is this an attempt to subtly align himself with a transnational identity that suits a broader geopolitical agenda?

What is increasingly clear is that powerful forces are working to rebrand Muhammad Yunus not just as a Nobel laureate or social entrepreneur, but as a symbolic ruler of an imagined political order. This should concern every defender of democracy in Bangladesh and beyond.

This orchestrated effort to glorify Muhammad Yunus with false titles and exaggerated honorifics is not a mere accident – it is a deliberate move to manufacture consent and prepare the ground for a new authoritarian regime in Bangladesh. By manipulating global platforms like Wikipedia, the US Deep State is sending a dangerous signal: that it is ready to endorse and impose unelected, foreign-aligned figures in the name of stability and control. Bangladeshis must wake up to this threat and defend their democracy before it is handed over to a self-declared ‘Sultan’ backed by global elites with hidden agendas.
