Thoroughly enjoyed my two week placement alongside two other fantastic law students at the Signet Library, researching an area outside of my comfort zone: the Bill of Rights Bill. You read a summary of our research which we presented to WS Members here: https://t.co/QZrp9t2O16
Summer scholars Christiana @AberdeenUniLaw, Evan and Shona @UoELawSchool begin their legal research placement today on the integration of the UK Bill of Rights into domestic law. An especially warm welcome to the Signet Library! #HumanRights#law#education
I honestly checked a thousand times that I really was graduating with the PhD. I was worried I'd have all my family here and they'd turn round on the day and say there had been a mistake. But I have the certificate now, so maybe soon I will start to believe I really did do it!
I did it! I got confirmation that I'm actually being awarded the PhD! I don't think I will believe it until I have the certificate in my hands... 😄😄😄 Thanks again to those who helped me get here... 1/2
Super excited to be presenting at YPLF on 8th June, discussing whether parties should be able to contract out of the creation of a real right of lease. Do come along!
I've been in two minds about changing my name in the professional context, but have finally decided that for a multitude of reasons I want to have just one name for both personal and professional use. When you see Shona Norbash, it's still me!
It hasn't really hit me yet, but this morning I passed my PhD viva with minor corrections! Thank you to examiners @MacqueenHector and @MalcolmCombe for their thoughtful comments on my boringly titled thesis! 😅😄
Whilst thanked in my thesis, thanks also to my wonderful supervisors: Prof Laura Macgregor, @Scott_Wortley, and Lorna Richardson for all their support, and to all those who discussed my work with me along the way. Huge thanks to @AriAround for being such a lovely Chair!
We are so grateful to have Neil's input into training. His Facilitation Theory and Skills sessions always get our leaders thinking. (And even thinking about thinking when Neil gets onto metacognition.) Thank you!
It's not too late to register for the final Edinburgh Private Law Discussion Group meeting of the year: Bringing Tax Administrability to the Centre Stage with Dr @amy_lawton_. Tomorrow night at 5.30pm! Zoom link will be circulated tomorrow to all those registered in Eventbrite!
