I often criticized Lindsey Graham. But this weekend, I learned his full story:

- Orphaned young, he adopted & raised his little sister instead of letting her go into the system.

- Grew up dirt poor, racking balls in his parents’ pool hall.

- In search of opportunity, he joined the Air Force. Served 33 years. Retired a Colonel.

- Then spent decades in Congress, earning respect across the aisle.

- Bashed Trump hard in ~2016, then respected the will of the voters, and grew to become a loyal ally.

- Humble. Devoted to his constituents.

- Driven by patriotism (even when misguided). Never in it for the money. Could've cashed in any time like most of his colleagues.

- That Disney trip everyone mocked? Just a good uncle taking his beloved nieces. He smiled through (and ignored) the hate to protect his family.

RIP to a self-made American original.

Tonight myself crispy, and huck planned to go to the river and talk about the 4th of july for a YouTube video.

We saw a guy in his 20s who was in the parking lot who just…..seemed down. He was sitting in his car and you could…you could tell he was down…

So i asked him if he wanted to walk with us and we were just going to go hangout and film a YouTube video by the river. He agreed to come with, and hung out for a couple hours and we were able to really have some serious conversations.

Bud has been really struggling lately, and we let him know we workout regularly locally. He is and has been in a REALLY low state; but we had some great conversations….Hopefully he shows up to local events.

We gave him steak, potatoes, and water and he was over the moon grateful….but mentioned many times how hard it was to trust anyone and how terrible the world was again and again.

Fantastic reminder of how many men are struggling, and how much men just need a fellow man to rant to, how many men NEED friends.

I truly hope we were able to get through to this man.

It was a great conversation and a great evening.

The DSA is going to continue to win victories all over America. We’re coming up on some very Schmittian moments, but the vast majority of conservatives would rather have DSA victories than challenge the religious commitment to democracy that is facilitating it.

Movement conservatives have no political answer to the extreme Left, because, as was true in 20th century Europe, the Left exploited the very systems conservatives hold as sacrosanct. Once communism and other forms of Leftism take political root in a country, extraordinary mechanisms are required to take care of it. This what fascism was. It was the contextually European movement to expel communism from Western civilization.

The conservative is always against extraordinary mechanisms. Conservatives would rather dream of better days. They think that if they can plug their ears the drumbeats of revolutionary leftism will stop—because to them, America is simply inevitable. All we have to do is wait it out. But what if America is not inevitable?What if it actually has to be fought for? What if extraordinary action is required? At that moment we put aside the charming conservatism and embrace counter-revolution.

We transcend the petty normalcies of democracy and engage extraordinary politics—the politics of the exception. We become Schmittian, not because Schmitt blueprinted out some utopian ideal, but because Schmitt made us admit that retaking our nation was more important than being nice, than tolerating evil, than living up to the religious demands of mass democracy.

Someday soon the state of emergency will come. We need men who are preparing now for the political stakes of that moment.
