LOCKDOWN: New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani declared a state of emergency and announced a city-wide travel ban, running from 9PM Sunday to 12PM Monday, as a powerful "bomb cyclone" began to blast the Northeast.
The mayor said all city streets, highways and bridges would be closed to non-emergency traffic during the peak of the storm.
Given the severity of the storm forecast and the state of emergency issued by the Governor, all NYC Public Schools will BE CLOSED on Monday, February 23, 2026.
There will NOT be remote instruction on this day.
