The National Association of Manufacturers works for the success of the people who make things in 🇺🇸. We are the industry’s one-stop resource and voice.
America wins with strong infrastructure. Today, the NAM launched #BuildingToWin, a six-figure campaign urging Congress to pass robust infrastructure investments and reauthorize critical federal highway programs before they expire on Sept. 30.

Great to be joined today by @ENERGY's Office of Energy Dominance Financing at NAM HQ. The EDF is committed to empowering the manufacturers working to secure reliable and affordable energy for all Americans.
.@HASCRepublicans Chairman @RepMikeRogersAL is right: undermining manufacturers’ IP rights via misguided policies like so-called “right-to-repair” would harm military readiness and hollow out the defense industrial base.
While we continue to see a lot of new investment announcements here at home, there are still headwinds keeping us from reaching our full potential. Manufacturers continue to press for policies that move the needle on the priorities that matter most to manufacturing certainty, growth and investment.
These results underscore the need to continue advancing American energy dominance policies that maintain a high level of domestic production—especially as a majority of respondents (53.3%) point to energy inputs such as diesel and natural gas, heating oil and kerosene as among the most critical to their operations over the next 12 months.
Manufacturers are reporting increased raw material costs as the top business challenge facing them, jumping 25.6 percentage points from 57.5% in the first quarter to 83.1% in the second quarter, according to the NAM’s Q2 Manufacturers’ Outlook Survey.

The survey also shows manufacturers’ optimism remained relatively steady, dipping to 74.2% in the second quarter of 2026, a decrease from 75.3% in the first quarter but in line with the historical average.
Thank you @RepYoungKim for working to ensure manufacturers have access to the critical minerals they need to compete globally, strengthen supply chains and support our economic strength and national security. On to the Senate!
China’s dominance of critical mineral supply chains poses a growing threat to America’s manufacturing competitiveness, economic security and technological leadership—at a time when manufacturers need reliable access to these materials more than ever. The bipartisan DOMINANCE Act is an important step toward countering that threat by strengthening partnerships with trusted allies and expanding access to the critical minerals manufacturers need to compete and win.
From medicines to water infrastructure, bismuth plays an important role in everyday life. With 88% of global production controlled by China, diversified supply chains and new mineral investments are critical for manufacturers. #MineralMonday
Would you risk hundreds of millions of dollars developing a lifesaving drug if the government could completely change the rules right before you finished? 📉🧪

Manufacturers thank @MarshaBlackburn and @SecScottBessent for highlighting the need to improve the R&D tax credit so we can accelerate manufacturing innovation in America.
Manufacturers across the country are leading efforts to upskill and train the manufacturing workforce of the future. @RepHuizenga's American Manufacturing Revitalization Exchange Program Act would bolster the industry’s existing efforts to develop America’s manufacturing workforce by expanding workers’ training opportunities via international partnerships—bolstering investment and production capacity here at home.
