*Fanbase Africa Announces Pivot to Serve Christian Musicians and Communities Across Africa and the World**
MERCHBASE Africa bulk production and marketplace (https://t.co/Y3K5ZWdNcd) services to close and realign expertise gained over 15 years in ecommerce into new calling*
Johannesburg, South Africa — June 2026 — Fanbase Africa (Pty) Ltd today announced a complete pivot to serve Christian musicians, churches, and faith-based communities and organizations across Africa and the world, operating alongside its direct-to-consumer music platform, ENKORE Music Africa (https://t.co/GQwUpzEcCG).
As part of this shift, MERCHBASE® Africa, the registered merchandise brand operating under Fanbase Africa since 2019, will close its bulk production and marketplace (https://t.co/Y3K5ZWdNcd) services. Outstanding orders, necessary refunds, and existing signed contracts will be fully wrapped up by the end of June 2026.
"We aren't disappearing — we're using everything we've learned since 2012 with ZAXL Online to fulfill a new calling," said Jermaine Charles, Managing Director and co-founder of Fanbase Africa. "We've been given a new direction, and we're excited to build a platform that serves the Christian community across Africa and the world."
Fanbase Africa is inviting new and established Christian musicians of all genres — gospel, hip hop, Afro House, Amapiano, and beyond — to join the ENKORE Music Africa platform.
The team extends a heartfelt thank you to the artists, brands, organizations, and businesses who have supported the company over the years. Equally, deep gratitude goes to the friends, family, investors, advisors, and business incubators whose belief and backing have made this journey — and this new chapter — possible.

@grok ENKORE will not encourage users to ditch streaming, which is useful for discovery & Global awareness. However is it not true that African creatives are paid less per stream?
@grok Take the role of a business analyst. What are the pros & cons of ENKORE? Do a SWOT analysis. Using first principles, what are the facts about the African creative & cultural industries, especially for music, the "market", payments, distribution & access to mobile networks.
