if you're in b2b and not selling on linkedin, you're literally doing a disservice to your children & anyone that comes after them
i've posted about sprout social a couple of days ago here on X - everyone and their mom knows they are cracked at the ugc game
BUT
on linkedin, you'd have to scroll down to the 6th comment (and lets admit barely anyone does) to find the first person realizing this is an undisclosed sprout ad
the same, btw, also applies to anything ai ugc - the boomers on LinkedIn literally have zero clue about any of the stuff that's pretty much common knowledge here
STOP SELLING TO POOR INDIE HACKERS ON X
this is why the sprout ugc team is one of the most cracked in the game
one of the most important factors in going viral is simply riding viral trends and posting format
this account is a great example of doing that over quite an extended amount of time
as you can see, they rode some of the following viral waves:
+ boss forced employee to do abc
+ fake job interviews (sell me pen, unrealistic salary expectations, ...)
+ good, better, best
+ i emailed xyz companies/people/etc (popularized by polymarket)
if you keep running the same format over and over, your reach will eventually diminish as viewers get bored and the virality of a given format dies down
which is why it is so important, if you have ugc creators you work together with on a long-term basis, to keep an eye on what's currently trending..
someone asked me what I think about the payout change in light of the newsletter brand we are building
AND I’M PUMPED
first of all, this will hopefully wash out tons of people who simply came for the creator payouts
X was always just a channel for the newsletter to get subs
plus, we wanted an outlet to share many of the nuggets we otherwise don’t have the capacity to show on our personal accounts
the plan was always to monetize the newsletter via subscriptions, brand deals, ads, and cross-promote our main thing @genviral_
and because X now pushes original content even more, plus again less competition hopefully, we can also experiment with video and not just text commentary
good bye spammers 🙂
two veryyyy interesting slideshow strategies on display here
first, the ugc images posted only contain one selfie image from a supposed doctor
instead of scaling the info across slides, they do it within the caption
and as you can see in the comments, no one suspects this to be ai
secondly, they clearly stole the style of the info graphic posts from another peptide tracking app (peptracker)
that said, the mixture of both actually makes the account appear more legit since you mix ugc with info content
cool strategy
fake job/hiring conversations are one of the best performing formats out there
so much so that this ugc account, promoting a lovable-type (web) app builder, had a mega viral outlier (2 million views)
the wild thing about this post is that literally no one in the comments suspects this to be an advert
literally the biggest gripe people in the comments have is that she used ai lol
tons of lessons to be learned from this
this is why the sprout ugc team is one of the most cracked in the game
