@MrJacobWillis @heymrsbond Giving a kid a zero for the day because they didn’t follow a rule is literally grading on compliance (which is totally unethical). If they can later reverse that zero (as they should), the zero for the day is purposeless. The point: the sign and your suggest policy are damaging.
@MrJacobWillis @heymrsbond So then that zero for the day doesn’t matter right? A kid could have their phone out daily, you give zeros. Then they demonstrate mastery on an assessment and have an A?
@MrJacobWillis @heymrsbond But at the end of the year a student could have a 0%, and have mastered all standards? That’s still grading based on compliance.
@CalltoActivism I find it odd that so many GOP states are doing everything to save the lives of a fetus that they take away the fundamental rights of self-determination for women yet somehow the rights of gun owners is sacrosanct and the lives of children is of secondary importance.
@courosa Writing smooth parent communication. I enter my prompts and my desired tone. “Message to parents regarding helping students study for an assessment on Friday regarding graphing lines. Message should have a warm supportive tone”
@theDRAMAgoat1 Every single student is an individual, a person, with interests & needs & unique perspectives & experiences. Keeping humanity at the core is key. Choosing battles. Doing what’s best for one kid might not be best for another, so flexibility with an equity mindset.
@AlexSVenet I’m confused about your take on “something you wish your teach knew” somehow equating to “tell your teacher a secret”. It could be their favorite color, favorite band, they’re allergic to peanut butter, they want to sit next to their friend. The student WISH is up to them….
