@blitziod@ellonico I agree with this, but we have to keep in mind that Scandinavian prisons are only so effective because people are taken care of outside of the prisons as well. The social programs on the outside ensure that nobody is committing crimes out of desperation.
Just started a rock band after playing exclusively jazz (or jazz-adjacent) music for the past two years. It's been hard as fuck to relearn playing with distortion (among other effects).
Getting assigned research papers kind of blows. But I'm so glad I'm doing that instead of being stuck in my hometown. I'll write a million research papers so I don't have to live there for my entire life.
The feeling of making money for playing/teaching music never gets old. Like, you're telling me you want to pay me $200/hour play pop country music? Or you want to pay me $500 to add guitar to some beats you have laying around?

I go to a college 50 minutes from the area and don't plan on living in the area forever. So they can't do shit.

@becometheknight@WhickTv It's a matter of correlation rather than causation. The spike in mental illness is happening everywhere. Trans people are just being used as a scapegoat. Something larger is happening here.
Have you met a trans person? If not, I hope you do. It may change your perspective.
