The indigenously designed 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) at Kalpakkam has achieved First Criticality, marking a defining leap in India's civil nuclear journey.

BHEL is proud to be a key partner in this landmark achievement.

On the Primary Reactor Side, BHEL has contributed through:
✅ Manufacturing, supply and fabrication of the Inner Vessel and Thermal Baffle
✅ Technology development of the Steam Generator-Evaporator, Inner and Main Vessel

On the Secondary Side, #BHEL has supplied and erected the 500 MWe Main Plant Turbine Generator Package built on indigenous technology.

These landmark achievements reinforce BHEL’s role as a key partner in the Nation’s Nuclear Journey towards long term energy security and the vision of an #Aatmanirbhar and #viksitbharat
