It has now been 47 days since I submitted my Netherlands Schengen visa application on 20 August 2026, and I still have not received my passport back.

I have already submitted a withdrawal request, but even after the withdrawal request, there is still no update regarding the return of my passport.

I urgently need my passport and have received no clear information about when I can collect/receive it. This is extremely stressful.

Please look into this urgently and provide an immediate update regarding my passport.

I understand that the final decision rests with the Embassy — you have mentioned this multiple times now.

My question is different: what can VFS actually do to assist an applicant whose application has been pending for 41 days?

I have already checked the tracking system, contacted VFS multiple times and contacted the Embassy as well. Repeating that VFS has no influence does not address my concern.

I have already lost my flight and hotel bookings because of this delay. Please tell me what escalation/support is actually available from VFS in such a situation, instead of repeating the same information.

If there is genuinely nothing VFS can do, please clearly confirm that as well, so I know what my next step should be.

What exactly is an applicant supposed to do after waiting 41 days with ZERO clarity?

20 AUGUST → Applied for Netherlands Schengen visa 🇳🇱
20 AUGUST → Biometrics completed at VFS New Delhi
20 AUGUST → Passport dispatched to Embassy
30 SEPTEMBER → Still “Processing”

My flight was TODAY. I had no choice but to cancel it.
Flights + hotels + other bookings = financial loss.

And now there’s a long weekend ahead, meaning more uncertainty and more waiting.

I’m not asking for preferential treatment.
I’m asking for basic transparency.

If my application is still under processing, please tell me.
If there is an issue, please tell me.
If a decision has been made, please return my passport.

But keeping an applicant waiting for 41 days with no meaningful update while their travel plans collapse is incredibly frustrating.

Please escalate this case and provide an actual update.

20 August — Netherlands Schengen visa applied at VFS New Delhi.
Biometrics completed the same day.
Passport dispatched to the Embassy the same day.

Today was my flight. I HAD TO CANCEL IT.
Flights cancelled. Hotels cancelled. Money lost.

And after 41 days, all I have is:

VFS: “PROCESSING”
EEU: “NOT OK”
Actual explanation: NONE.

Now comes a long weekend, which means even more waiting.

How long is an applicant expected to wait without a clear update while their entire travel plan falls apart?

I understand that visa decisions take time. What is frustrating is the complete uncertainty and lack of a meaningful update.

My passport is with the authorities. My flight is gone. My bookings are gone.
All I’m asking for now is a clear update and the return of my passport.

If anyone from VFS / the Netherlands Embassy can help escalate this, please do.

Day 41 of waiting for my Netherlands Schengen visa 🇳🇱

I applied on 20 August 2026 at VFS New Delhi. My biometrics were completed in Delhi and my passport was dispatched to the Embassy the same day.

However, my VFS status is still stuck at “Processing”, and the EEU status is showing “Not OK.” I still have no decision or clear update.

My flight was today, and because I still don’t have my passport, I had to cancel my flight and all my hotel bookings, resulting in a significant financial loss.

Now with the upcoming long weekend, I may have to wait until Monday just to receive any update. I’m honestly losing hope of getting my passport back in time.
