I have written to Shri @RahulGandhi on the GBIT land acquisition affecting thousands of farmers in Bidadi, Bengaluru South. For over 470 days, residents of 25 villages have peacefully protested against the @INCKarnataka government’s plan to acquire 7,481 acres of fertile farmland for a Rs 18,000 crore ‘Work-Live-Play’ township between Bidadi and Harohalli. Despite over 3,500 written objections from small farmers, the final acquisition notification was gazetted on 11 June 2026 without a single public hearing.

This land feeds Bengaluru milk, vegetables, fruit, areca nut and banana daily, and sits beside the historic 1,000-acre Byramangala tank. Thousands of rural women who depend on this farming now risk losing their livelihoods, with land being acquired well below market value. I have written to Shri Rahul Gandhi requesting that he urge the Congress government to withdraw this project and address the farmers’ concerns at the earliest.

ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಹೈ ಕಮಾಂಡ್ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮಣಿದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಯಲಹಂಕದ ಕೋಗಿಲುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರವು ಮಾಡಿದ ನಂತರ ಅವರಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಸತಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಜನವರಿ 1, 2026 ರಂದು ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವ ಜಮೀರ್ ಅಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಿಯಮಾವಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ತೂರಿ ಅಲ್ಪ ಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರನ್ನು ಓಲೈಸಲು ಕೋಗಿಲು ಸಂತ್ರಸ್ತರಿಗೆ ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಮನೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೆ ಮಾ���ುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಖಂಡನೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಕೈಬಿಡಬೇಕು.

ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ, ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಕಾಳಜಿಯಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಗುಳೆ ಬಂದು ಕೂಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಾಗಿ ಹಲವು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆ ಹೊರತು ತೆರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟದೆ, ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶೆಡ್ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವವರಿಗಲ್ಲ.
