Thanks to my wife Beri for spotting and alerting me of this Bald Eagle on Eagles Stump this morning at the Morro Bay National Estuary. Fortunately it coincided with high tide allowing for this very cool reflection!

Here's another image from my trip down Highway 1 from Carmel to Morro Bay on Tuesday. This is Gamboa Point Beach and in the distance is Big Creek Bridge which is the same design as the famous Bixby Bridge. The turquoise color of the water is how it really appears.

I drove home down Highway 1 from Carmel to my home in Morro Bay yesterday. The leading edge of a storm front was pushing across the Pacific Ocean (it's raining now) and I found these wild Golden Yarrow on a hillside above the Little Sur River. I've always loved this location!

Zion National Park is one of my favorite NP's and for good reason. This is Archangel Falls and is located in a deep canyon on the way to the famed Subway. I stayed a few extra days after completing a workshop and made the hike and this image - one of my favs!

I decided to go out yesterday for sunset but knew I would be facing a cloudless sky. Instead of being discouraged, I embraced that challenge and thought about how I could make an engaging image. 1000mm.

I love taking my Sony 100mm macro Series II our every now and then to see what I can find. I came across this honey bee working hard and grabbed a few frames at f/2.8!

Bandon Beach, Oregon is one of the coolest places to capture sea stacks that I've ever seen. A long exposure lets both the sky and water move creating some interesting contrasts!

Another one of my favorite fall color locations is North Lake in the eastern Sierra heading west out of Bishop, California. I captured this scene just as alpenglow light lit the peaks behind the lake. I was assisting Gary Hart in his annual Eastern Sierra Workshop.

And now for something a little different. I am a huge fan of making images with my iPhone and I just upgraded to the 18 Pro Max. As I was scouting locations for the workshop in Grant Teton NP, I caught his image around 11:30amnot optimum light.I've always liked the Distressed FX

On the final morning of the workshop we took the group to the famed Snake River Overlook. We arrived in the dark and were hoping to capture a moonset but as you can see, clouds were present. It's not what we were hoping for but it ended up resulting in a nice capture. W
