HSBC, we need to talk.
In August, HSBC ran a bonus offer on the Premier card: spend ₹1 lakh within a short window and get a 25% bonus on Accor transfers.
So I did exactly that. Hit ₹1L within the window. Transferred my HSBC points to Accor.
Now I'm told: transactions on the add-on card don't qualify.
Wait, what?
1. You set a steep spend target in a short window.
2. Customers stretch to hit it.
3. Then, after they complete it, a condition shows up that I couldn't find anywhere.
I'm not asking for a 25% bonus on the primary card and another 25% on the add-on. I'm asking for one bonus. Every other criterion was met. It's one card account, one bill, one points pool. How can add-on spends not count?
If this exclusion was in the T&Cs, show me where.
Did anyone locate any such add-on exclusion?
First time today I actually felt like those people in movies who just drive to the airport and park their own car. Did exactly that at BLR, and I don't think I'm going back to cabs for short trips.
The airport being far from the city actually works in your favour for a quick one or two day trip. You just drive down, park right outside T1, and walk in. The drive itself was the best part. Set it on cruise control, put on a podcast, and the whole stretch just went by. No anxiety about reaching on time, and no worry about waiting in a queue for a ride later when I'm coming back home tired.
I used to dread the other way of doing it. Standing there 45 minutes, sometimes a full hour, for an Uber to even accept the ride, and then the driver wanting to stop at a CNG pump somewhere on the way. There's a direct bus too and I've tried it, but that easily takes two to three hours. Driving myself skipped every bit of that.
And it isn't even the expensive option. Parking came to 600 for the first day and 350 after that, while a one way cab from HSR is already 1200 plus. Mine's an EV, and BLR gives 200 free units of charging at home on top of it. Quietest, most stress-free airport run I've had in a long time.
The issue is clearly on Flipkart’s side. Magnify should have provided the fix value of pt, so if Flipkart felt the partnership wasn’t profitable, they simply changed the conversion rate.
It’s similar to when our favorite card issuer changes the points conversion ratio. Do we blame the card issuer or the hotel/airline partner?
Been waiting a while to share this one.
You can convert @Flipkart SuperCoins to Magnify Mag Miles.
While we've been working with airlines on the burn side, this partnership makes the earn side significantly stronger. This is our first partnership with a major consumer brand outside of airlines and banks.
To every Magnify user who trusted us early, who stuck around when we had zero airline partner, who told friends about us: thank you. You built this with us.

Yukatas on. 8 PM. Banyan Tree Kyoto.
Arvind and his mom sat down for a vegetarian kaiseki that wasn't even on the menu. The hotel designed a 7-course meal from scratch, printed a custom menu card in English and Japanese, and the staff stayed past closing.
He still has that menu card as a souvenir.

I watched Jensen Huang being asked who the smartest person he’s ever met was.
He smiled — and refused to answer.
Instead, he questioned the question itself.
He said what we call “smart” — coding, solving complex problems, optimizing systems — is quickly becoming commoditized.
AI already does that better.
That struck me.
Because it means intelligence is no longer about how fast we think — but how deeply we understand.
Jensen said the future belongs to those with emotional depth, adaptability, critical thinking, and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
I couldn’t agree more.
In a world where machines learn patterns, humans must learn perspective.
Maybe being smart isn’t about knowing more…
It’s about feeling and deciding better.
What do you think — are we ready to redefine intelligence for the AI age?

Well, something interesting brewed up in the last couple of days and this one is actually big for the Indian points scene.
@MagnifyClub is now the first non-banking platform in India to offer airmiles transfers. You earn Mag points by buying vouchers, visa services or anything on the platform… and simply convert them to airline miles. Super simple.
UI and execution are genuinely smooth and as per the leaks Lotusmiles has already been onboarded. Curious to see what transfer ratios and new partners get added next.
Big congrats to the mile-millionaire @PranavDate for pulling this off. Love seeing the ecosystem grow.
In the blink of an eye, your groceries arrive

Why take the SAS Challenge? Earn 1 million points, travel the world, and unlock insane value.
SAS doesn’t fly to India, so it seemed like a no-go at first. But diving into SkyTeam options made it a game-changer for international travel.
Let’s break it down. 🧵
