The current visa scenario for millions of Indians suck! Its like staying in a sophisticated jail…Neither I can go, see my parents and come back to resume my work nor they will get a visa appointment until 2024!!
1/9 Indians in the US on a work visa can't go home. There’s NO appointments.
The now ~200k H-1B Telegram group is growing by 13,000 per month.
Even with ~$40m in fees, the 5 VACs process ~10,000 a month. The next availability is ~2024!
Here’s 6 stories from hurting families:
We blew our ability to lead in the development of and setting standards for the 5G technology… by not granting **ONE** Green Card.
Imagine all the technology we’re saying goodbye to by not retaining the foreign STEM talent trained at US universities.

One Canadian killed by gun violence is one too many. That’s why we’ve banned 1,500 types of military-style assault firearms. And that’s why, today, we’ve introduced legislation to further strengthen gun control in Canada. Thread ⤵️
@TheBcellArtist My husband and I recently graduated and joined post doc. We want to stay in academia but the visa situation (especially India and China) is pathetic. We do not get green card for years. This makes me question my decision even though we really like our post doc and want to stay
I am trying to get emergency visa appointment in US consulate as my husband who is in USA is in ICU in critical condition. We have no immediate family or friends who can attend to him at this moment and me being there is essential in this emergency situation to look after him.
Inhumane green card backlog must be resolved. When you working in the US for a decade and go see your family for a week suddenly you are an alien again. Either waive visa stamping for folks in decades of green card backlog or just stamp visa in the US.
Forget Green card backlog, forget RACIST country caps in EB immigration. H1b professionals are fighting to be able to travel with dignity. Living >decade in US legally but risk getting stranded in India if you dare to go for a family emergency. 🧵
