So many of the great software engineers I consider fantastic "software architects" share this one thing:
They build (throwaway) prototypes to prove their point / showcase their ideas. A lot!
So much easier to reason about concrete code than abstract ideas.
Such a big difference between devs who are capable and willing to learn new things when they need to (eg new languages, frameworks) & have a "sure I will sit down and figure this out the next few days" attitude, versus people who are used to given formal training to do the same.
Software/app reliability and performance are consumer facing features. Customers prefer apps and software that are more reliable and performant. These are not just engineering problems, these are product and UX problems.
We are grateful to @Uber_India@Delhivery @Porter_trucks for providing transport to Delhi govt team working on distributing Oxygen Concentrators. Their help in this difficult time was crucial in ensuring our patients receive timely oxygen support in hospitals.
@goairlinesindia Had a very frustrating experience with go air airlines yesterday. My wife and I had booked a 2hr flight from jaipur to bangalore on 29th November, but it got rescheduled to an 8 hr long flight via Kolkata without any confirmation taken.
When we wished to enquire about the change and cancel the flight, it was just impossible to reach the airlines. Their customer contact number was not reachable, which just handicapped us.
@somsatpathy@hhariri@somsatpathy - not contesting that it has made life easier, but the fact that there is so much potential to make it an easier to use tool, but due to its monopoly, we often ignore that and force ourselves to accept it the way it is.
We at @porter_trucks migrated 15 Forms using @reasonml Formality-Library. 2 pointers:
1.)Formality is a lean n powerful library powered by PPX. kudos @alexfedoseev
2.)The migration involving 450+ file changes and 0 prod bugs is ReasonML awesomeness

@thepericulum Do you consciously refrain yourself from setting links everywhere? I sometimes find setting too many links detrimental - like in my daily todos, which are temp in nature, I don't add links, as that clutters existing entities with information I find irrelevant later.
@warikoo Empathy is "difficult" to "teach", but that does not mean that people are born with it right? Empathy is a very cultural thing, and often it is imbibed in subtle ways in our formative years through our peers, and is difficult to learn later by shedding our formative learnings.
@jamesmh_dev I resonate with you! :) I tend to take it one step beyond - so the namespacing looks something like :
- product
-- feature
--- entities
---- entity 1
----- app
----- domain
----- data
--- usecases
---- usecase 1
----- app
----- domain
Etc.
10. If you are interested in more polished associative cataloging, I would encourage you to explore @RoamResearch, which I heavily use currently. @Conaw
Sharing some of my thoughts on note taking, and how it aids thinking and forming or forging concepts.
Special mention to @fortelabs, whose ideas I have been heavily inspired by.
