Hindi dapat ganito. Kaya naghain tayo ng House Resolution No. 1102 para paimbestigahan ito: saan napupunta ang PHP 1.015 trillion na pondo DepEd, bakit may mga guro pa ring napipilitang gumastos, at paano natin masisigurong hindi na ito mauulit taon-taon.

INSPEKSYON SA ₱86-M NA IMPORTED NA SIBUYAS SA MICP

Ngayong umaga, June 10, kasama natin ang Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Customs (BOC), at Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) sa isinagawang inspeksyon ng 26 containers na naglalaman ng tinatayang ₱86 milyong halaga ng imported red onions sa Manila International Container Port (MICP).

Habang nabubulok ang sibuyas ng ating mga magsasaka, ito namang imported onions ay nabulok din matapos maiwan at hindi ma-claim. Kung ganito ang nangyayari, kailangan nating tanungin kung bakit may pumapasok pang ganitong kalaking volume ng imported onions sa kabila ng sapat na lokal na suplay.

Kung lehitimo ang shipment na ito, bakit iniwan na lamang at hindi na-claim? Bakit hindi binayaran ang kaukulang buwis at mga bayarin? Dapat masagot ito upang mapanagot ang mga nasa likod nito at maprotektahan ang ating mga magsasaka.

Bakit tayo mag-iimport kung marami ngang supply dito sa atin? Ito ang tanong na paulit-ulit na lumabas sa ating public hearing. Ang pagpasok ng imported onions sa panahon ng oversupply ay lalo lamang nagpapabagsak sa presyo at nagpapahirap sa ating mga magsasaka.

Hindi dapat nabubulok ang sibuyas ng ating mga magsasaka, at hindi rin dapat nasasayang ang mga produktong pumapasok sa bansa. Ang kailangan natin ay maayos na pamamahala ng suplay, mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng batas, at mga polisiyang inuuna ang kapakanan ng ating mga magsasaka.

Who si liable? As parents we always want the best for our children. We want them to experience and enjoy what life has to offer. School is like their second home and we put our trust in the institution not only to teach them how to be productive and hopefully be successful but more importantly to teach them how to be Godly. We don’t normally mind the field trips because we know our kids will love them as they will have new experiences. The thing that I’m not so comfortable with is signing a “waiver.” Why? The school is responsible for educating our kids but is not responsible for their safety? I don’t understand!!! I’m externally emotional about this because I am a mother and I am sure all mother’s would agree that even if we sue those that are responsible for any tragedy—— a loved one’s life has been lost and will never be returned. We empathize with the parents of those who lost their beloved sons in the recent tragedy and our hearts and prayers go out to them.

KARAGDAGANG ₱15-B PONDO PARA SA RELIEF, RECOVERY, AT RECONSTRUCTION PARA SA MGA LUGAR NA APEKTADO NG MINDANAO EARTHQUAKE

Nanawagan tayo ng agarang paglalaan ng karagdagang ₱15 bilyon para sa relief, rehabilitasyon, recovery, repair, at reconstruction efforts sa mga lugar na naapektuhan ng magnitude 7.8 na lindol na tumama sa ilang probinsya at lungsod sa Mindanao noong Lunes, June 8.

Sa ilalim ng panukalang Senate Bill No. 2259, hiniling natin ang supplemental appropriation na ₱15 bilyon para sa fiscal year 2026 upang suportahan ang relief at rehabilitation efforts sa Mindanao kasunod ng lindol na tumama sa baybayin ng Sarangani.

Ang pondo ay hahatiin sa sumusunod:

✅ ₱2 bilyon para sa Department of Agriculture (₱1 bilyon para sa National Irrigation Administration at ₱1 bilyon para sa ayuda sa mga magsasaka at mangingisda)
✅ ₱2 bilyon para sa Department of Education
✅ ₱1.5 bilyon para sa Department of Social Welfare and Development
✅ ₱500 milyon para sa Department of Energy
✅ ₱1 bilyon para sa state universities and colleges
✅ ₱1.5 bilyon para sa Department of Health
✅ ₱1 bilyon para sa DOH at mga kaukulang local government units para sa rural, district, at provincial hospitals
✅ ₱1 bilyon para sa Department of Public Works and Highways
✅ ₱2 bilyon para sa Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development at National Housing Authority
✅ ₱500 milyon para sa Department of Transportation
✅ ₱2 bilyon para sa mga apektadong local government units

Ang prayoridad natin sa gitna ng sakunang ito ay ang kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan sa Mindanao—na sila ay maging ligtas, magkaroon ng sapat na tulong mula sa gobyerno, at nawa’y makabalik muli sa kanilang normal na buhay at hanapbuhay sa pinaka-madaling panahon.

Higit pa sa agarang tulong na kailangan ng ating mga kababayan sa Mindanao ngayon, kailangan din nila ng matagalang suporta mula sa gobyerno para muli silang makabangon mula sa trahedyang ito.
