Today, our seniors had their Senior Banquet. Seniors were able to say goodbye to their teachers, fellow classmates, and were able to cherish the last few moments of high school with each other. What a great way to end the year! Good luck to all our seniors!

Biotech students enriching young minds! Our volunteers from the Biotech program brought science to life at Butler Elementary's Open House, engaging students with interactive activities and sparking curiosity about the wonders of science.

Last Wednesday we welcomed our community at our annual Biotech Open House! Students were able to showcase their projects, demonstrate what they have been learning throughout the year, provide hands on engaging activities, and welcome the community into our new greenhouse.
Biotech's end of the year celebration will be on Tuesday, May 7th in the Cafeteria to commemorate biotech members for their hard work this year. Remember to submit any biotech photos or videos to be featured in the end of the year video.
Happy National DNA Dayπ§¬! April 25th commemorates the groundbreaking discovery of the double helix structure of DNA in 1953 by James Watson, Francis Crick, and Rosalind Franklin. This discovery revolutionized biology and genetics, paving the way for future advancements.
Last Friday, our Biotech students had the opportunity to tour Sacramento City College and partake in hands-on activities that allowed them to explore the numerous pathways in both the science and medical fields.
This past Friday, our biotech sophomores got to listen to guest speakers from the Sac State Nursing Program. They learned about different nursing careers, pathways to nursing, and received advice for college. Thank you Sac State!
Biotech will be having a meeting next Tuesday, April 2nd, at 1:50 pm in the designated biotech rooms. There will be a makeup meeting the following Wednesday at 8am. We hope to see you all there!

Congrats to our very own Shaylyn Carthen.Β Today, she presented an inspiring and amazing speech at Educating for Careers Conference about her high school journey with the Biotech Academy. The audience was over 3000 educators, administrators, counselors, and industry partners.
Thank you to the guest speakers from the California Health Sciences University for the insightful session on medical school! Our Biotech students not only acquired valuable insights into medical education, but also gained firsthand experience in using medical equipment.
Join Sheldon Biotech to learn more about the medical pathway along with hands on medical skills on Friday, February 2nd. BTA students will receive activity points by participating. More info will be provided in the BTA Google Classroom under the "Opportunities" section.

Our Biotech Seniors went on a field trip to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery! Students were able to learn about the spawning and migration of both salmon and steelhead trout.
