Q: this was Bai Jingting's first attempt in comedy, how was it working with him?

A: it was a great experience. He is very serious, hardworking, and thoughtful; he’s willing to really dig into the material and has a genuine passion for comedy. He might not have a systematic background in comedy before, but throughout our collaboration, he frequently asked questions about the creative process. I also communicated with him to help him gain new insights and a fresh understanding of the genre. Overall, it was a very pleasant collaboration.

Q: Bai Jingting is from Beijing, yet the characters in the story speaks Northeastern dialect. How was the process of learning the dialect like for him?

Q: He had absolutely no trouble learning it. I think that’s the mark of a good actor—linguistic ability is part of the professional skillset. Skilled actors can master various dialects; even if the pronunciation isn't perfect in every single instance, his ability to mimic the accent and intonation is impressive. So, when Bai Jingting speaks with a Northeastern accent, it doesn't feel out of place at all. As a local, unless I am really nitpicking, I really can't hear any difference.
