🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

The Merrimack College athletic department on Wednesday announced plans to add four Division I varsity sports – women's flag football, acrobatics & tumbling, men's swimming and men's rowing – to its athletic offerings beginning in 2027-28.

Josh Allen is one of the most special talents we have ever seen at the QB position. I don’t care who your favorite player is or who your favorite team is. Don’t take what you are watching for granted.

BE THE TEAMMATE WHO:

[Greg Berge @GregBerge]

Culture usually doesn’t reveal itself in the big speech.

It shows up in little moments like this.

Coen Carr starts to walk away. Then he notices the chairs. He turns around and pushes them both in.

Nobody had to tell him. That’s the point.

Great cultures are filled with people who notice things.

They clean up.
They help.
They take care of the little things.
They do what needs to be done without being asked.

None of those things will show up in the box score. But they tell you something about the person and the culture.

You can talk about culture all you want.

But eventually, culture becomes behavior.

And the little things usually tell you what kind of team you really have.

It is time for the NCAA to determine what a safe real feel temperature for athletes to practice and compete outside is. It is not enough to recommend how hot or cold it should be. #putathletesfirst

@richluchette And we could be outside enjoying the nice weather! It’s actually why we want to enclose our deck with screens! So we can watch the game out there!

[Alise Shuart Barrett @shuarta]

This is true for non-sports playing kids too!

[D3Direct @D3Direct]

There are 429 D3 schools in the U.S.

But, most recruits know about ~10-20 schools

That's not a recruiting problem

That's a research problem

The more schools you identify and add to your college list, the more opportunities you create for yourself

@LizRobertshaw @IWLCA @NULax @NU_Sports @NorthwesternU @NCAALAX Thoughts on if every goal should be reviewed in the championship??

Stephen Colbert was awarded the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award for his advocacy for free speech and speaking truth to power. A fitting honor for a champion of our democracy.

RETWEET to congratulate Colbert on this honor!

@D3Direct Can you do this for men’s and women’s lacrosse??

[D3Direct @D3Direct]

HS WBB SA's: 399,067
NCAA WBB SA's: 16,509

1.3% land at D1
1.2% play D2
1.7% go D3

Only ~4.2% play in college

If you have an offer - don't take it for granted

And we've got 2 more NCAA Olympic sports discarded by their host school.

NCAA D3 Marian University has eliminated Men's & Women's Lacrosse.

In just the past 2 WEEKS, we've lost 24 Olympic sports programs — 11 discontinued and 13 due to school closure.

THIS IS A CRISIS

[NIL 𝘯𝘰𝘵 NLI @NILnotNLI]

Some good NCAA news:

• D3 Fitchburg State University is adding Men's Lacrosse

• D3 Utica University is adding Women's Flag Football

At least 21 Olympic sports programs have been added at NCAA member schools this month.

[NIL 𝘯𝘰𝘵 NLI @NILnotNLI]

Every single player on this USA Women’s Gold Medal Hockey team is a current or former NCAA player. 100%.

Olympic sports bring so much value to universities, regardless of revenue.

Keep eliminating them and we lose a lot.

[NIL 𝘯𝘰𝘵 NLI @NILnotNLI]

Some good NCAA news:

• D3 Keystone College is reinstating its Men's Golf program.

• D3 Kenyon College is adding Men's & Women's Squash

51 Olympic sports programs have been added (8 D1) at NCAA member schools since March — double the amount that have been eliminated.
