Not every inspiring sporting story ends with a trophy. Over the last few days, Lakshya Sen has shown India what courage, resilience and belief truly look like. His run to another All England final, through extraordinary wins and immense physical pain, has been about far more than a result. He has reminded young India that greatness lies not only in winning, but in the honesty of effort, the dignity of the fight and the strength to keep believing. I am Proud of you, @lakshya_sen . Wing Commander Namansh Syal was known for his discipline and excellent service record.

His wife is also an Air Force officer. They have a five-year-old daughter. Imagine how happy they must have been when he was selected to represent India at the Dubai Expo, where countries send their best pilots.

Their daughter must have been bubbling with excitement, reminding him to bring her something from Dubai. He would have planned a little sightseeing, a little shopping, and a lot of memories to bring home after the expo.

His parents, his father also a veteran, were at his house in Hyderabad to see him after he came back from Dubai.

And then, in a few unforgiving seconds, everything ended. The country will mourn for a few days, offer condolences, and move on to the next headline. But for his family, the pain is permanent. Their world has shifted irreversibly. Their lives will never be what they were a moment before that crash.

For every uniform we salute, there is a family that silently carries the cost of that courage. Their strength is the unseen backbone of our nation’s defence.

“In one of the most notable moments in sports history, Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped thinking he had completed the race.

A Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him, and after realizing what was happening, he started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn't understand his Spanish.

Fernandez eventually caught up to him and instead of passing him, he pushed him to victory.

A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?"
Ivan replied, “My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win.” The journalist insisted “But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win.” The journalist insisted again, “But you could have won!”Ivan looked at him & replied, “But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor of that medal?
What would my Mom think of that?”

Kumari Rupa Bayor, an ace taekwondo athlete, is the pride of Arunachal Pradesh and India. She has many achievements in her kitty and many more are in the offing.

She made it to the top 25 WT World rankings in April 2023. She has also secured 8th position in Asia ranking and holds India Rank No. 1.

Today she made a courtesy call. Had a pleasant meeting with her. Best wishes to her for Australian Open/Oceania President’s Cup to be held on 7-10 July 2023.
