Oh, where to begin! I learned SO many new ideas, how do deal with ALL personalities. I met lifelong friends I can always count on, all states are dealing with the same issues, and science teachers are AWESOME!!!

Make a checkllst and complete it. Also, complete it, put it away for a few days, and then reread it. You may make some changes. And, definitely ask for your letters of reference EARLY! You will have to wait endlessly for some of them.

Be honest. Don't write what you think people want to hear. If elected, you have to practice what you preach. Short, sweet, and to the point works well. Use personal experience.

I began with my state organization and watched the process. I belonged to other organizations and blended all the styles to make my own. And, science teachers I have me have been amazingly helpful and encouraging!

Lots of ways to get involved and make the decision! I was asked by others based on my previous leadership activities. And, I come from a great state that is very active in promoting leadership
