We were told we would never close Belle Vue greyhound stadium but we never gave up on the #dogs & 20 years after the first demos started, housing has replaced the greyhound track which is now nothing more than an ugly stain on our city’s history. #manchester #bangreyhoundracing

4 years after Belle Vue closed, we visited the new houses built on what was the greyhound track. How lovely to go down Greyhound Avenue with our companion pooches enjoying the walk, when not so long ago #dogs were forced to run for their lives on the very same ground.

Heartbroken to learn of the passing away of our friend Marie Evans. A local resident, Marie was determined to see Belle Vue greyhound track close down & joined the demos every Saturday. Her wish came true & she celebrated the demise of Belle Vue with the rest of us. RIP Marie 💜.
