Ethan leaned against the couch arm, nodding while making sure to keep a distance so as not to frighten Luna. “This is my usual place. It's a nonprofit run by Mia and her sister, and all the cats are rescues; every cent earned goes toward supporting cat shelters.”
Whether joyful or painful, past experiences are merely memories. There's no need to linger on them or glance backward. Keep progressing forward, for there will always be even more stunning landscapes waiting ahead.
the reason dogs aren’t allowed everywhere babies are isn’t that movie theater owners somehow haven’t realized that a little dog sleeping quietly in a purse is less disruptive than a screaming baby. it’s because babies are human beings
@randomrome @cterlson Yep. Funnily, "As you know, Bob" dialogue even makes it into the Bible, with Jesus telling his Jewish disciples, "As you know, the Passover meal is in three days..."
@randomrome My dad is disappointed she isn't friendlier (to him) as he is very much a Cat Man. Another friend told me her grandma's cat adored her (granddaughter) but her own parents only saw this cat in photos for 22 years 😂
I'm still (basically) not here! But belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 😊 Also, an update that after eight years of trying to talk sense to my mother, turns out all I needed to do was burst into tears in front of my father. Behold, I adopted Millie last October:
@cterlson E.g. "I heard you are pulling Willow out of jiu-jitsu this term?"
"Yes, that's true. Her father and I thought it better that our daughter concentrate on school this term so she doesn't flunk."
vs
"She brought home straight Ds last term".
@cterlson Overwriting responses, especially to questions. Real people don't often talk like that, especially to people they know, and it litters dialogue with unnecessary yeses, noes and other tics that soon get annoying.
So I miss you all terribly, but Twitter is VERY bad for my mental health. I came here on Christmas Eve just to say hi and within about 20 seconds, a hashtag I was following about Christmas TV was polluted by politics & I felt... poisoned. I don't know where to go from here.
I was legitimately addicted to Twitter and don't want to relapse. But my email is [email protected] and I'm on Facebook. Thinking about starting a Substack.
