@FlakPhoto Most photographers don’t even engage in discussing ‘the image’ or ‘composition, concept, design’ ‘process’ part of photography. It’s dominated by talk of which camera they use and film or digital. 🤷🏼♂️
@jacksonroman_ One of the biggest challenges for me was eating at an Italian restaurant and not ordering wine. My wife drinking and every table around us with a wine bottle. Like coils, I’m over it now. :)
@jacksonroman_ Great man! The best way to do it. Clean, Whole Foods. If you haven’t reach this point yet, wait until you start to hear your body. There’s so much going on between the guy and the brain. The body is amazing.
@jacksonroman_ 4. Keep yourself distracted/busy. If not, your mind will wander. This trouble.
5. My early days I drank ginger beer and flavored soda water.
6. Don’t drink non-alcoholic beer, etc. it’s only going to make it harder.
@jacksonroman_ About surviving 30-days of sobriety?
1. No means no. You’ll have friends, lovers ones who’ll taunt you to drink. Ask them to help not hinder.
2. Let everyone know you’re doing it so you have a support.
3. Ask yourself ‘why’ you’re doing it and then own it. Purpose is vital
@1qban@SolanaPhoto Some of the most dynamic work is made when you take a risk and step out of your ‘lane.’ When you do so, leave the naysayers and critics on the side of the road. :)
In 1989 I randomly sat next to a cute girl at college orientation. I mustered the courage to say hi. I’ve been married to that girl for 26 years.
In 1999 a friend invited me to try rock climbing. I said yes and discovered a life-long passion.
In 2017 while sitting in a board meeting I had an epiphany: This isn't the life I want. I quit my job and moved the fam to Boulder with no plan. The rest is history.
Here’s the crazy thing about life:
One action, one decision, one pivotal moment can change everything (for better or worse).
But here's the trick:
You don’t know beforehand which action will be the game-changer.
That’s why it’s important to have a strong bias toward action. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
Make that phone call you’ve been putting off
Push through when you feel like quitting
Have that uncomfortable conversation
Introduce yourself to that cute guy/girl
Check out that church or faith group
Ask for that promotion or raise
Apply for that new job
Sign up for that class
Start that side hustle
Post that tweet
Take that trip
The world belongs to the bold. Be a seeker, open to change and opportunity.
And most importantly...
Shoot your shot.
@FlakPhoto Unfortunately, outside of the classroom they don’t beyond a positive like or cool, awesome. Anything else is considered ‘unsolicited feedback.’ Everyone seems afraid to discuss work. It’s a very bad habit. There’s a fear of repercussions.
