@FridoKala@lesthecroc Not at all, I declare that there's no pride in colonialism with my whole chest. That said, English should feel confident in admiring their nature and feeling patriotic in their own country. That's a perfectly natural instinct of every person.
@FridoKala@lesthecroc What part of "English by the grace of God" or hiking in the Lake District presupposes pride in colonialism? You're swinging against windmills here
@Fomin_Alexs@Usaguinei USSR was a colonial nation by every measure. Local ways, religions, customs, languages were intentionally suppressed to achieve political/economic goals of the centre. In Central Asia, education was russified, Aral Sea depleted, millions killed due to forced collectivization.
@nowonvide0@marrakeshrio@MSpondee@UkeCreature Most people who feel depressed can be cured, or at least start their recovery with social and physical activity: sunlight, friends, labour, exercise, art, sense of dignity, sense of purpose. Unless it's a rare clinical case when meds are needed.

@sergeax@RFERL Serbo-Croatian or "BCMS". Obviously, the existence of this language is never admitted on the state level, since each country sticks only to their own official standard. But almost every linguist agrees that Croats, Montenegrins, Bosniaks and Serbs speak the same languge.
@sergeax@RFERL Czech and Slovak are two languages, with different writing, pronunciation, vocabulary and even grammar. Croatian and Montenegrin are two official standards of the same language with minimal difference.
@schizo4jesus@depthsofwiki Not only Ukrainian, but also recognized as a piece of world heritage! Cope and seethe, or as we like to say: "чухай ногу об дорогу"

@otocobulus76@HMKHKKLDYK6@Rimmy_Downunder I think you may be projecting some of your local Balkan understanding of ethnicities on Eastern Slavs. Ukrainians and Russians are to each other like Serbians and Bulgarians. You're prob suggesting more "Serbians and Montenegrins", which is an irrelevant analogy for 🇺🇦 and 🇷🇺
@grain99806254@thatgrimdude@souljagoyteller Anyone with knowledge of domestic 🇺🇦 and 🇷🇺 politics knows that gov't and society in 🇷🇺 is 100x more fascist than in 🇺🇦. They have way more nazis in the army too. Also, Azov's been incorporated into regular AFU since like 2015, it's a brigade like any other, it's non-political
@grain99806254@thatgrimdude@souljagoyteller There are no Nazi units in AFU. This entire narrative was invented by russia to justify their wars. The myth comes from the fact that 1st Ukrainians who volunteered after 2014 invasion were far-right adjacent football hooligans. Exactly the type to volunteer first during invasion
