72 years old and not a scientist by profession. I briefly majored in physics, but most of my life was spent in religion, and later as a correctional officer.
A new penguin species has been identified for the first time in more than 100 years.
An international team of researchers has identified a new penguin species for the first time in over a century.
The newly named Southeastern gentoo penguin (Pygoscelis kerguelensis) lives exclusively on the remote Kerguelen Islands in the southern Indian Ocean. This discovery, published in Communications Biology, reveals that what was previously considered a single gentoo penguin population actually consists of four genetically distinct species.
I don’t agree. The United States was deliberately founded without a religious test for public office. A person doesn’t become unqualified to serve simply because he or she is Muslim, any more than someone should be disqualified for being Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, or anything else.
The proper question is whether a candidate is qualified, respects the Constitution, follows the law, and supports policies voters agree with. If a Muslim candidate advocates policies you oppose, you’re free to vote against that candidate for those reasons. But excluding an entire group of Americans from public office solely because of their religion is something very different.
The principle has to apply equally. A Muslim officeholder shouldn’t be permitted to impose Islam on everyone else, just as a Christian officeholder shouldn’t be permitted to impose Christianity. Public officials serve under the Constitution, not under the religious doctrines of their particular faith.
American religious freedom means people have the right to worship according to their conscience, or not to worship at all, while remaining full citizens with the same political rights as everyone else. Judging someone’s fitness for public office should be based on what that person actually believes, says, does, and proposes to do in office, not simply on the label Muslim.
@JD_Vance_Q1 E. Zero Percent. This man has been the most detrimental president in American history. He hasn't made America great again. He's making America into a third world country.
