Congratulations to @vp_fund ๐. Its been an amazing decade of powering the start-up ecosystem across Africa, and what a pleasant way to mark it through an initiative that combines art, innovation and entrepreneurship to shape the future.
YSMA is proud to be part of this story.
10 years! ๐
A decade ago, we started with a simple belief โ that Africa's most transformative ideas were already here, waiting to be backed, built, and believed in.
From an on-campus accelerator in an art-wrapped container building to an institutional fund that has backed over 100 companies across the continent โ we've spent ten years investing in founders, in systems, and in the environments where innovation takes root.
As we mark this anniversary, we've been reflecting on what the next ten years ask of us. So in the spirit of who we are, we've partnered with the Pan-Atlantic University @pau_nigeria and Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art @shyllonmuseum on two initiatives: a Student Entrepreneurship Engagement Programme and the VPโYSMA Futures Art Award.
Because the next ten years will be built by people who are equal parts curious, creative, and courageous.

YSMA has joined the residency museum network of @TheMuseumsLab. In 2026, we will be hosting our first-ever international residency for African & European museum professionalsโmarking a new chapter of collaboration, knowledge exchange and promotion of the museum practice globally.
Founded on the visions of @pau_nigeria and @DrShyllon and sustained through strong governance, YSMA demonstrates how cultural investment can create enduring social impact and value for society.
Recently, we welcomed participants of the Sustainable Impact Philanthropy Programme (SIPP) from @LBSNigeria.
Drawn from different non-profit organizations and foundations across Africa, the leaders engaged with the museum as a case study in long-term, structured philanthropy.
We were honored to welcome @obiasika, DG/CEO of @ncac_nigeria, on his first-ever visit to the #YSMA.
He explored our collection, engaged with the team, and shared inspiring ideas for collaborations to elevate local culture and own our narratives.
A remarkable start to 2026!
From 1867 to 2026, the language of hope remains unchanged.
Weโre ringing in the New Year with this vibrant 19th-century floral by the American School. Just as these blooms defied the winter of 1867, may your year be filled with resilience, color, and growth.
Happy New Year!!
