🚨Canada must not reopen the Islamic Republic's embassy!

The Iranian Justice Collective ("IJC") has received credible information that the Government of Canada intends to restore diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic and reopen its embassy, closed by Conservative Prime Minister Harper in 2012. The ending of diplomatic relations has been the correct, bipartisan policy pursued by Liberal governments since then.

This regime has murdered Canadians, continues to engage in foreign interference and transnational repression on Canadian soil, has engaged in mass murder in recent months, and has never been held accountable for its crimes.

It must not be rewarded.

The IJC will continue to engage with parliamentarians, allies, and civil society to oppose any move that normalizes relations absent meaningful change and accountability.

دیروز با مادربزرگم که تاب‌آوری بالایی داره ومایه آرامش خاطره صحبت می‌کردم.از سایه جنگ و آرزوی صلح می‌گفت.مکالمه تمام شد و خبر حمله سپاه به اسرائیل و بعد هم پاسخ اسرائیل اومد.از تیربار دی‌‌ماه تا طناب‌های دار این ماه‌ها و بمباران، مردم ما در چند ماه ترومای چندین دهه را تجربه کردن.

سال‌های گذشته، به نظر من اوضاع بازداشت‌شدگان خیلی بهتر از الان بود. صفحاتی مثل «۱۵۰۰تصویر» فعالانه اخبار بازداشت‌شدگان را پوشش می‌دادند و واقعاً تأثیرگذار بودند. در دی ۹۶ کمیتهٔ بازداشت‌شدگان داشتیم و بعد از آن، در هر خیزشی، تشکل‌ها و گروه‌هایی بودند که محکم و پیگیر وضعیت بازداشت‌شدگان را دنبال می‌کردند.
اما امسال اوضاع عجیب و متفاوتی داریم. بی‌نام‌ترین و مظلوم‌ترین افراد، همین امسال در زندان‌اند.

Ehsan Afarashteh was only 32.
He had a Master’s in civil engineering and worked as an IT and cybersecurity specialist from Isfahan.

He was living safely in Turkey, but the barbaric regime tricked his father: “Tell your son to come home, he’s safe.”

His father believed them and called Ehsan.
Ehsan trusted his dad and returned.
Then they arrested him at the airport.
Tortured him in solitary for months.
Forced a fake confession.

When his father heard they sentenced his son to death, his heart stopped beating and he passed away.

This morning, the Islamic Regime hanged Ehsan anyway.
A good young man who just wanted to come home.
They destroyed his whole family and killed him in silence.

We’re losing our brightest young people, one by one, every single day.
