Happy to see my book about Lennon is listed as one of the best books published by a university press. See list on LitHub.

@ADixonMusic I"m sticking with the orgin being that P's gran liked b-birds, nothing to do with civil rights. Whatever the origin, when P. writes "You were only waiting for this moment to arise," his ignorance of Black history is evident. That "moment" much before the '60s.
@FeldmanBarrett@LaurieJacobson A big day in history. I saw them in Ed Sullivan's studio the day before, and I can't imagine what they felt going from a small studio to the gigantic madness of Shea. Glad there's this book about that event.
@FeldmanBarrett This book, yes, and all the others by serious, insightful female writers writing about the Beatles. Let voices be heard! Let their words be read!!And, let these authors bewritten about, too, maybe make a film or two. Go for it, as the Beatles have shaped our world. Thanks, C F-B.
My Private Lennon by @sibbieosullivan is today's #WomensHistoryMonth selection for a Beatles book you should read. It's an insightful take on the personal dimensions of Beatles fandom and Sibbie's writing is superb.
This is a great podcast at Something About the Beatles, but it's for anyone interested in the power of art, our current social situation and how what you love can change your life. Heavy, lovely stuff: https://t.co/3qJ7l62kE5
@FeldmanBarrett Have you seen it in black and white as it was originally broadcast on UK television? The color adds soooo much to the film, makes it a much better romp. Agree about The Walrus. Have a happy new year Christine!
@thisislarsland I love this album too. No Reply is stellar. And the photos, their faces. Album is a bridge to their later work. You might like "My Private Lennon: Explorations from a Fan Who Never Screamed" as I write about that album.
@FeldmanBarrett Oh, I will, but don't have the time right now, but in the future for sure. Hear the voices, see the faces, marvel at the whole shabang.
@akompodcast Love it is, and I love hearing John's voice and then there's the simplicity of his lyrics and their message, and the realistic (and I don't think it's sarcasm) of the line "now and then." The differing tempos of love, its comes and goes, has always been his theme.
@FeldmanBarrett@CandySez @AllisonBumsted Couldn't resist mentioning 3 fine smart and dedicated women who have helped me understand the power of women in the history of the Beatles, and fans of all ilks. Onward!
