Living a retirement dream with a wonderful wife, daughters & dogs. Mostly enjoying my garden but love test cricket, snooker, darts, real ale, music & good mates
@RobJF24 Now that’s a good selfie collection! As an aside, any reason you know of why Desislava didn’t ref much this year? Yes qualifiers, which was a treat, but not after the first round at the crucible (Higgins vs Carter) I don’t think 🤔
@Nick_Metcalfe I agree on the first point, when factual. You can’t speed up subjective decisions unless the criteria for review is very strict, and you still have the draw the line somewhere. Yes re. fans (misguidedly) but also the media - even more debates to fill airtime
@Nick_Metcalfe Its hilarious isn’t it. The ongoing call for ‘consistency’ in a game which hinges on subjective decisions, VAR or no VAR. But its’ introduction simply highlighted the fact and made the product unwatchable.
@snookerworld146 Agree with the top 5 more or less. Hendry a clear No.1. Perry the one I’ve been most impressed with recently and who can challenge those positions, especially Davis. Foulds & Hendon are a great loss to most viewers who understandably don’t have TNT
@TAFKASB But even more staggering has been how poor Murphy is at trying to get them - again not decent amateur standard. Maybe shown why he hasn’t won more and why he always advocates for frames ending when a player needs snookers! 🤦♂️
@PeterDavidKirby At the event, yes, as you’re actually watching the live action than a TV. I’d find it hard to choose between for TV viewing, but darts normally edges it
@goodbadftblpod Could’ve sat there for 3 weeks but didn’t come back after the interval when he could have stayed & watched the other game! Although have to say felt a bit sorry for him the way he was bombarded by people wanting selfies the second he got out of the arena
@ILoveSnooker_ His safety play is the thing which sets him apart from all other Chinese players and the reason he wins tournaments and is now in the games elite
@RobJF24 Very well said. I concur on all points, do not understand any criticism of the guy when he is so passionate, enthusiastic and good at what he does. How can adding more enjoyment to the spectator experience be a bad thing?
