Here’s my quick take on a VERY complicated matter.

This rant isn’t about politics, so no need to get into THAT debate. I’ll be as brief as possible.

If doge is about cutting spending, which is what they have been focused on, the FAA should be at the very bottom of that list. The FAA is grossly underfunded and short staffed AS IS. We’re already behind the times as far as airspace modernization goes compared with Europe and modernizing our airspace ADDS to that budget.

Modernizing ‘more efficiently’ means corner cutting. Skipping steps. Don’t get me wrong - the red tape is so damn thick right now that it DOES need to be cut down, but it needs to be done thoughtfully over time, and by industry experts. The cost of ONE MISTAKE will be both devastating AND highly visible.

This administration is barely 2 weeks in, and they’ve got their hands in absolutely everything. Nobody on planet earth has the bandwidth required to solve even minor problems in ONE agency let alone fundamental problems in all of them.

This is short-attention-span theater politics edition.

It’s clear that this is either optics, personal enrichment, or revenge - no two ways about it.

Only now has my headache gone away. Ford Field yesterday was the loudest stadium I've ever been in. And yet the silence, when the Lions were on "Goffense" was remarkable.
