In 2020 Mike will read the signatories again and the Shane half of @sick_of_cuts will be there! If you're in the neighbourhood today, though, or have an interest as either patient or loved one, please check in with your MPP's admin office and go to the gallery!
Today at Queen's Park MPPs will be reading out petitions against the cuts proposed to OHIP-covered psychotherapy. Guelph-based signatories will be read aloud by @JohnFraserMPP as @MikeSchreiner has a conflict (his office has been super all the way through!) Thanks John and Mike!
There's a private Facebook group for patients affected by the Ontario government's proposal to limit psychotherapy to 24 hours per year, called "24 Hours Is Not Enough."

Self-Care Helps You Help Others
Thinking of yourself first, when your goal is to help others, might seem counterintuitive, but in fact it is the only way it can work. In the end, the notion of putting oneself last is really an inside-out form of self-cherishing.

Failure to adequately fund #mentalhealth and addictions services is partly due to #prejudice. There is a reason our system was designed this way. There are still some people who truly believe we don’t deserve adequate funding. What do you think?
@joe_cressy@TOPublicHealth What the cities get: A one-year break from funding cuts to public health, child care, ambulances.
What they don't get: A longer-term reprieve, as province is only cancelling retroactive funding changes right now. There was also no talk of reinstating the gas tax revenue hike.
