Watched Kadvi Hawa last night and for me it's the most important movie to come out in last few years. Noone has really touched or talked about climate change and it's impact the way this movie does. @RanvirShorey the accent and the expressions especially at d end, WOW!! #salute
You know why small things matter, KL Rahul could run 3 when he was on 98 but was more interested in completing his ton so he just ran for 2 & the very next ball he got out. Lack of game awareness cost his wicket #cricket#indvsafg#test#klrahul
🇮🇳🇵🇰In 1971, the Pakistan Army and Muslim Brotherhood-linked militias killed 500 000+ people and raped 400 000 women in just 9 months in Bangladesh
Hindus constituted a large share of the victims murdered in the Bangladesh genocide of 1971.
55 years later, pressure is mounting on countries across the West to terror-list both the Muslim Brotherhood and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
Today, after playing a crucial and violent role in the protests that overthrew the Sheikh Hasina government in 2024, the main Muslim Brotherhood-linked group, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has 68 seats out of 300 in the parliament and is again the driving force in the persecution of the country's Hindu and Christian minorities.
During the 1971 Liberation War, Jamaat-e-Islami sides with Pakistan against the Bangladeshi nationalists fighting for an independent state. They also never forgave India for defeating Pakistan in the war after it was attacked by Pakistan, making it possible for Bangladesh to be established.
After overthrowing Sheikh Hasina, Jamaat-e-Islami attacked hundreds of Hindu villages, burning down many of them while also attacking and killing Hindu students at universities on a large scale.
Overthrowing the government also created conditions in which the Jamaat-e-Islami has been able to firmly established itself in Bangladesh after having been banned by Sheikh Hasina in 2013.
They are now in the process of reestablishing close relations with the Muslim Brotherhood across the world, particularly through student organizations that they run.
The ideological links between the two organisations run deep.
Syed Abul A'la Maududi, who founded Jamaat-e-Islami in 1941, admitted that he had been inspired to launch the movement by the Egyptian Hassan al-Banna who founded the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928.
Many senior BJI leaders developed direct contact with the MB while studying abroad, particularly at Al-Azhar University in Egypt and in Turkey.
Today, BJI maintains active ties with MB-inspired groups in the Middle East, such as the Islamic Constitutional Movement in Kuwait and various organizations in Qatar.
One of the BJI's main assets is it's student wing Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS), which maintains its own relationships with MB-affiliated youth groups across the world and has recently sought to deepen these ties for global outreach and funding.
After being one of the main perpetrators of the Bangladesh genocide, Jamaat-e-Islami is today the country's 2nd-largest party. In cooperation with the Muslim Brotherhood, the BJI party and movement is quickly spreading Islamism in Bangladesh.
The 1971 Bangladesh genocide has only been recognised by Bangladesh and Armenia as well as the regional parliaments of Scotland and Wales.
There is however a growing international movement calling on countries to recognise the genocide and ban both the Jamaat-e-Islami and the Muslim Brotherhood.
A bipartisan resolution (H.Res. 1430) on recognising the Bangladesh genocide was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022 while Congressman Greg Landsman introduced his own new resolution in the same matter just last month.
The world can no longer ignore the past Islamist genocide and current atrocities perpetrated in Bangladesh.
Just dont like what brands like CK and Tommy Hilfiger are doing. Making salesgirls wear skimpy and tight clothes with high heel, trying to lure men in a hope they will buy coz of it, is downright immoral. Hope to see a change soon #brands#retail#ck#th
This scene from Ghatak remains one of the most emotional moments in Indian cinema. The father-son bond between Sunny Deol and Amrish Puri is deeply moving and still gives goosebumps every time. A true classic.

Today, I was reading about Samuel Evans Stokes, who was the only American jailed for participating in India's freedom struggle.
Lady is Agnes Stokes, his himachali wife.
Also, he was the one who introduced apple seeds in Shimla, which today is known as Shimla Apples.
Dhurandhar is an absolute masterpiece of a spy thriller. Reminded me a lot of The Departed, so many memorable moments. Hats off to @AdityaDharFilms. Please do watch #Dhurandhar, you won't regret!
In my 28 years of watching test cricket in India, this is downright the worst Indian test team ever. Hope the selectors, management and coach is sacked now. We can't allow this abhorrence to continue any further #TestCricket#indvsa
#Baramulla is an eye opener. The movie beautifully captures Kashmir's beauty and its horrendous history which should never be forgotten. @AdityaDharFilms excellent job, telling stories which needs to be told. Always a fan, you are a star!
