Gold is replacing fiat currencies as a reserve currency:
Gold's share of global international reserves rose 3 percentage points in Q1 2025, to 24%, the highest in 30 years.
This marks the 3rd consecutive annual increase.
Meanwhile, the US Dollar's share declined ~2 percentage points, to 42%, the lowest since the mid-1990s.
The Euro share remained roughly unchanged at ~15%.
Gold is now the world’s second-largest reserve asset after surpassing the Euro in 2024.
Gold is seeing historic levels of demand.
@KaartikGor Sir, another interesting thing about the country is that it is not affected by globalisation. So you will not find Dominos, MacDonalds, etc. Only local cuisines with amazing food. Although it can be a little bit difficult for vegetarians like myself.
@KaartikGor@KaartikGor Sir, we also took a Sea Boat ride at Tivat to the 'Old Lady of the Rocks', Bay of Kotor, The Blue Caves and the WWII era submarine shelter. The entire country is very beautiful and a must visit. Recommend staying within the Kotor Old Town Complex, it's very joyful.
@KaartikGor We took a scooty from the Tivat Airport and explored Tivat, the old towns of Kotar, Budva, Sveti Stefan and the Skadar Lake en route to Podgarica. The journey itself is very beautiful along the coastline and across the country from Tivat to Podgarica.
@aravind The desert region had a Marine environment in the past and most likely was a part of the sea or ocean. Fossils of ammonites and other ancient marine species which lived in the sea or ocean have already been discovered long back from the region of Kutch and Thar. @ankitatIIMA
Watched the documentary, "RBI Unlocked: Beyond the ₹upee". It talked about Gold, the 1991 Crisis, showed its gold vaults, the minting and currency printing process. It also mentions E-Rupee(CBDC) as the future and how they stirred the economy during COVID. @RBI@ankitatIIMA
Can't imagine how furious PM Modi must have been because of continuous statements from President Trump that PM Modi outright told him the facts. Let's see if President Trump still makes those statements about using trade deals for mediation post this phone call.
@ankitatIIMA
"The India-Pakistan ceasefire was done on Pakistan's request, America had no role in it, India-America trade deal wasn't a condition" - PM Modi to President Trump on phone call .
Just wow 👏🏻👏🏻
Both PM Modi and President Trump discussed the Israel-Iran conflict. However the need for direct talks for peace was discussed only for the Russia-Ukraine conflict. That's interesting. Also miight have asked the US to avoid targeting the Chabahar Port?🤔

Foreign secretary Vikram Misri on PM Modi, Trump talks
Transcipt
Meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump
It was scheduled to take place on the sidelines of the G7 summit. However, President Trump had to return to the United States early, due to which the meeting could not happen.
Subsequently, at President Trump’s request, the two leaders spoke over the phone today. The conversation lasted approximately 35 minutes.
On April 22, following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, President Trump had called Prime Minister Modi to express condolences and voice support against terrorism. This was the first conversation between the two leaders since then.
During the call, Prime Minister Modi discussed Operation Sindoor in detail with President Trump. He clearly stated that after April 22, India had demonstrated its firm resolve to take action against terrorism to the entire world.
Prime Minister Modi informed President Trump that on the night of May 6-7, India had targeted only terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. India’s actions were measured, precise, and non-escalatory. Additionally, India had made it clear that it would respond to Pakistan’s bullets with artillery shells.
On the night of May 9, Vice President Vance had called Prime Minister Modi, warning that Pakistan might launch a major attack on India. Prime Minister Modi had firmly told him that if such an attack occurred, India would respond with an even stronger counteraction.
On the night of May 9-10, India responded forcefully to Pakistan’s attack, inflicting significant damage on the Pakistani military and rendering their military airbases inoperable. Due to India’s strong retaliation, Pakistan was compelled to request a halt to military actions.
Prime Minister Modi clearly told President Trump that throughout this entire sequence of events, at no point were topics such as the India-US trade deal or US mediation between India and Pakistan discussed. The discussions regarding halting military actions took place directly between India and Pakistan through existing military channels, at Pakistan’s request.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India has never accepted mediation, does not accept it, and will never accept it. On this matter, there is complete political consensus in India.
President Trump understood the details provided by Prime Minister Modi and expressed support for India’s fight against terrorism.
Prime Minister Modi also stated that India no longer views terrorism as a proxy war but as an act of war, and Operation Sindoor is still ongoing.
President Trump asked Prime Minister Modi if he could stop by the United States on his way back from Canada. Due to pre-scheduled commitments, Prime Minister Modi expressed his inability to do so. Both leaders then agreed to make efforts to meet in the near future.
President Trump and Prime Minister Modi also discussed the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. Regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict, both agreed that direct talks between the two sides are essential for peace at the earliest and that efforts toward this should continue.
On the Indo-Pacific region, both leaders shared their perspectives and expressed support for the significant role of the QUAD in the region. For the next QUAD meeting, Prime Minister Modi invited President Trump to visit India. President Trump accepted the invitation, stating that he is eager to visit India.
@ankitatIIMA Since the conflict would affect the entire middle-east, did you mention the UAE because there is no other place in the Middle East where people would invest in real-estate at this point?
