Still thinking about this bizarre experience from my last rental apartment:

My neighbor was a follower of the BAPS sect. One afternoon, they invited Swamis over for a puja.

As soon as the Swamis arrived downstairs, the elderly neighbor rushed into our flat and asked my mom and wife—who were just sitting and chatting in our own living room—to go hide in an inner room so the Swamis wouldn't lay eyes on women.

I had a dozen sharp questions ready for her, but my mom caught my eye and subtly signalled me to let it go.

Where do people draw the line between faith and imposing on someone else’s private home?

ગેરલાભ? Demand vs Supply નો નિયમ લાગુ પડ્યો છે. માંગ વધુ હતી અને પુરવઠો ઓછો. મેં પણ બપોરે બે વખત ટ્રાય કરી પણ બાઈક ટેક્સી પણ ન મળી. ટૂંકમાં ડ્રાઇવરો બુકિંગ લેતા જ ન હતા. જેમણે એક્સ્ટ્રા પૈસા માંગ્યા હશે એમના મુસાફરો ગંતવ્ય સુધી પહોંચ્યા હશે કે કેમ એ પ્રશ્ન છે. આજે ગુરુકુળ ત્રણ રસ્તે રિક્ષાવાળા ભરેલી રિક્ષા ખાલી કરાવતા હતા એ મેં મારી નજરે જોયું હતું.

બધી વાતોમાં સમરથને જ દોષ ન હોય ગુસાઈ!

Ahmedabad Metro Proves to Be a Lifeline Amidst the Strike! 🚇✨

Today, a sudden plan came up to meet a friend towards Gurukul. Looking outside, autos, cabs, and bike taxis were all on strike. I was worried at first, but then it hit me—Gurukul is well-connected by the Ahmedabad Metro, and what a relief that was!

95% of the broadcast income is paid to the franchises. Only 5% goes to the PCB. So they are least bothered by the outstanding funds.

Franchises havent been paid their share in two years. Even im still owed money. But I dont think ill be getting it anytime soon. The PCB doesnt care and owners cant do anything about it. 🤷‍♂️

After spending about an hour and a half catching up, I took the exact same route back. Reaching the Old High Court interchange once again, I rode the escalator up just in time to see the digital display showing my connecting train arriving in just 1 minute! I caught it straight away, got down at my home station, and took a quick walk back home safe and sound.

In the past, strike days meant postponing work until the next day. But thanks to the Metro's seamless connectivity, the entire round trip took barely 35 to 40 minutes—completely free of traffic and hassles.

I walked to my nearest metro station from home. From there, I reached the Old High Court interchange and headed down to the platform to catch the train towards Thaltej Gam—just as it pulled in. Passengers were still deboarding, so I managed to hop on right in time.

Gurukul Road is only about the third stop from Old High Court, so I reached in no time and took a short walk to my friend’s office.
